  1. 1. Dendritic cells in cancer immunotherapy

    Author : Karin Gustafsson; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2011]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; vaccines; dendritic cells; αDC1; PGE2DC; natural killer cells; T cells;

    Abstract : Dendritic cells (DCs) play a central role in the initiation and regulation of innate and adaptive immune responses and have increasingly been applied as vaccines for cancer patients. Ex vivo generation and antigen loading of monocyte-derived DCs allows a controlled maturation, with the aim of imprinting different DC functions that are essential for their subsequent induction of a T cell-mediated anti-tumor response. 2. 2. Patients’ experiences of patient participation prior to and within multimodal pain rehabilitation

    University dissertation from Luleå : Luleå tekniska universitet

    Author : Catharina Nordin; Luleå tekniska universitet.; [2013]
    Keywords : Sjukgymnastik; Physiotherapy;

    Abstract : Patient participation is a concept used to describe the patients’ involvement in their healthcare. The aim of this licentiate thesis was to explore primary healthcare patients’ experiences of patient participation prior to and within multimodal pain rehabilitation. READ MORE

  3. 3. Alternative pathways in the plant respiratory chain -transgenic analyses of type II NAD(P)H dehydrogenases

    University dissertation from Luleå : Luleå tekniska universitet

    Author : Sabá Wallström; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2010]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : During oxidative phosphorylation, the production of ATP is driven by the activity of several proton-pumping respiratory protein complexes. In plants, non-proton pumping type II NAD(P)H dehydrogenases are also present in the respiratory chain to oxidize cytosolic and matrix NAD(P)H. READ MORE

  4. 4. Gene description, activity quantification and physiological responses of mitochondrial alternative NAD(P)H dehydrogenases

    University dissertation from Department of Cell and Organism Biology, Lund University

    Author : Fredrik Johansson; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2004]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chemotaxonomy. Physiology of nonvascular plants; phytogeography; Systematisk botanik; taxonomi; morfologi; kemotaxonomi. Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .; morphology; taxonomy; Systematic botany; plant mitochondria; NAD P H dehydrogenases; cold treatment; complex I; light dependence; antimycin a; alamethicin;

    Abstract : In addition to proton-pumping complex I, the plant respiratory chain contains type II NAD(P)H dehydrogenases. These extra enzymes do not pump protons and consequently do not contribute to the electrochemical proton gradient. READ MORE

  5. 5. Bioactive Food Compounds with Cancer Preventing Effects in the Colon Focus on Ferulic Acid, para-Coumaric Acid and Lactoferricin
