  1. 1. Configurational Thermodynamics of the CeO2-Gd2O3 System : A Combined DFT, Cluster Expansion and Monte Carlo Approach to Bulk and Interfaces

    Author : Pjotrs A. Žguns; Natalia V. Skorodumova; Andrei V. Ruban; María Verónica Ganduglia-Pirovano; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : In this thesis, we study the configurational thermodynamics of Ce1-xGdxO2-x/2 x ≤ 1 or CGO. We apply a combined Density Functional Theory (DFT), cluster expansion and Monte Carlo (MC) approach in which the configurational energy of CGO is described by means of the Ising-type Hamiltonian. 2. 2. The Dynamics of Extratextual Translatorship in Contemporary Sweden : A Mixed Methods Approach

    Author : Elin Svahn; Yvonne Lindqvist; Kaisa Koskinen; Helle V. Dam; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; translation studies; translation sociology; sociology of translators; translatorship; extratextual translatorship; mixed methods research; qualitative longitudinal research; questionnaire; focus groups; interviews; thematic analysis; Translation Studies; översättningsvetenskap;

    Abstract : This thesis is concerned with Swedish translators and the society in which they work. It begins with an exploration of the concept of translatorship, leading up to a three-part distinction of 1) textual translatorship, 2) paratextual translatorship, and 3) extratextual translatorship. 3. 3. Funnel-Based Control for Coupled Spatiotemporal Specifications

    Author : Farhad Mehdifar; Dimos V. Dimarogonas; Charalampos P. Bechlioulis; Bayu Jayawardhana; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Funnel-Based Control; Prescribed Performance Control; Uncertain Nonlinear Systems; Time-Varying Output Constraints; Coupled Spatiotemporal Constraints; Formation Control; Multi-Agent Systems; Trattbaserad kontroll; föreskriven prestandakontroll; osäkra icke-linjära system; tidsvarierande utgångsbegränsningar; kopplade rumsliga begränsningar; formationskontroll; multiagentsystem; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : In the past decade, the integration of spatiotemporal constraints into control systems has emerged as a crucial necessity, driven by the demand for enhanced performance, guaranteed safety, and the execution of complex tasks. Spatiotemporal constraints involve criteria that are dependent on both space and time, which can be represented by time-varying constraints in nonlinear control systems. READ MORE

  4. 4. Unraveling the role of NOTCH3 dysfunction in disease and for therapy development : a focus on CADASIL

    Author : Daniel V Oliveira; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The Notch signaling pathway, including the Notch3 receptor, is involved in many pivotal contexts of cell signaling and cell fate determination processes during development and in adulthood. Different mutations in the NOTCH3 receptor, which is highly expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC), are associated with various diseases, including developmental disorders, several forms of cancer, and vascular dementia. 5. 5. Mechanisms of intestinal tumor initiation and progression in ApcMin mouse model of colorectal cancer

    Author : Zhiyuan V. Zou; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; colorectal cancer; ApcMin mouse;

    Abstract : Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a cancer that occurs in the colon or rectum and is one of the most common cancer forms and a leading cause of cancer death in the Western world. The majority of CRCs are caused by inherited or somatic mutations in the APC gene. READ MORE
