  1. 1. Lewis Acid Mediated Alkylation and Diels-Alder Reactions of 2H-Azirines

    Author : Erik Risberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : 2H-azirines; Lewis acid activation; chiral ligandsorganolithium reagentsDiels-Alder reactions; DFT-calculations;

    Abstract : This thesis describes the use of 2H-azirines as reactivesubstrates in Lewis acid catalysed nucleophilic additions andin the Diels-Alder reaction.A number of carbon nucleophiles have been added to aseries of 2H-azirines in the presence and absence ofBF3·Et2O. READ MORE

  2. 2. Lewis acid Mediated Aza-Diels-Alder Reactions and Asymmetric Alkylations of 2H-azirines

    Author : Erik Risberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : Enantioselective; diastereoselective; vinyl azide; 2H-azirines; aziridines; Lewis acid; chiral ligand; chiral auxiliary organolithiums Diels-Alder reaction alkyl radicals triethylborane.;

    Abstract : This thesis describes the use of 2H-azirines, three-membered unsaturatednitrogen-containing heterocycles, as reactive intermediates ina number of Lewis acid promoted alkylations and Diels-Alderreactions providing synthetically useful aziridines. In order to carry out this investigation a new generalprocedure for the ring closure of vinyl azides, forming theresultant 3-substituted-2H-azirines, was developed applying low boiling solventsin closed reaction vessels at elevated temperatures. 3. 3. Stable and radiogenic isotopes as tracers for geochemical processes in mineralogically-complex mine waste environments : Insights from 13C, 2H, 18O, 34S and 87Sr/86Sr

    Author : Musah Salifu; Lena Alakangas; Maria Nieves Otero Perez; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tillämpad geokemi; Applied Geochemistry;

    Abstract : Mining and its related activities generate large volumes of mine wastes such as tailings that can have negative environmental implications. One of such mine wastes of potential environmental concern is the historical Yxsjöberg Cu-W-F skarn tailings in Sweden, which encompasses a complex mineralogy including sulphides, carbonates, silicates, oxides / wolframite and halides. 4. 4. Magnetron sputter epitaxy of 2h-Al1-xInxN thin films

    Author : Timo Seppänen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis describes the growth and structural characterization of epitaxial 2h A11-xInxN ranging from pure A1N to InN [01-xInxN films were synthesized by dual DC reactive Magnetron Sputter Epitaxy (MSE) in an ultra-high vacuum (UHV) system. Growth parameters such as deposition temperature and magnetron power settings were adjusted in order to control the film stoichiometry. READ MORE

    Abstract : Surfactant self-assembly is an important phenomenon that occurs in a number of processes in our everyday life. It is important to understand the forces and parameters that control and influence the self-assembly, as this knowledge can be used both in order to design surfactant systems with desired properties and for creating model systems, for example for biological processes.
