  1. 1. Flotation of silicate minerals : physico-chemical studies in the presence of alkylamines and mixed (cationic/anionic/non-ionic) collectors

    Author : Vidyadhar Ari; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Abstract : The mechanism of adsorption of long chain alkyl primary amines and, co-adsorption of amines and alcohols on silicate minerals (quartz and feldspar) were studied using FTIR (DRIFT and IRRAS) and XPS spectroscopy methods. The spectroscopy data were correlated with zeta-potential and Hallimond flotation results. READ MORE

  2. 2. Pharmacometric models in the development of biological medicinal products

    Author : Ari Brekkan; Mats Karlsson; Siv Jönsson; Philip Lowe; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacometrics; model-based analysis; NONMEM; population modelling.;

    Abstract : Biological medicinal products (BMPs) are a successful class of drugs that are indicated in numerous diseases.  Common among them is that complexities associated with their manufacture and analysis lead to a high cost compared to small-molecular weight drugs. READ MORE

  3. 3. Dead-Time Compensation and Performance Monitoring in Process Control

    Author : Ari Ingimundarson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robotteknik; Automatiska system; reglerteknik; Automation; robotics; control engineering;

    Abstract : The thesis contains two parts, dead-time compensation and performance monitoring. The first part on dead-time compensation is about robust tuning procedures for dead-time compensating controllers (DTC). Both stable and integrating processes are considered. READ MORE

  5. 5. Foreign direct investment, host country characteristics and spillovers

    Author : Ari Kokko; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : It has been argued that technology and productivity spillovers from foreign direct investment are the most important channels for the diffusion of modern technology to locally-owned firms in the MNCs’ host countries. Yet, existing empirical studies differ in their appraisals of the size and significance of spillovers. READ MORE
