1. Nonlinear Optics Studies on the MAX IV Storage Rings
Abstract : The MAX IV Laboratory in Lund, Sweden, houses two electron storage rings operating at the energies 1.5, and 3 GeV. Both of these produce high-brilliance synchrotron radiation for beamline users. While the 1. READ MORE

2. Optics Corrections and Stabilization Methods for Particle Accelerators
Abstract : The discovery of a Higgs-like particle is the result of excellent performance ofboth the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) and its detectors. A significant partof the success can be attributed to the excellent control of the optics in theaccelerator. In this thesis the methods used to correct the optics functions arepresented. READ MORE

3. Extreme Electron Beams and Brilliant X-rays : Generation, Manipulation and Characterization of Relativistic Electron Beams for and from Plasma-Based Accelerators
Abstract : This thesis is based on work done by the author on the development of plasma-based electron accelerators driven by ultra-intense laser pulses and dense electron bunches. Plasma based accelerators have several benefits, such as accelerating fields around 1000 times stronger than in “conventional” radio-frequency accelerators, which can allow for shrinking the overall footprint of the accelerator. 4. Optical Studies For Synchrotron Radiation Beamlines
Abstract : Synchrotron radiation sources have greatly contributed to the progress in many fields of science. The development of the storage ring technologies has made possible to obtain very low emittance electron beams, which together with the use of undulators allow guiding a very high photon flux into a very small spot required by the experiments. 5. Electron beam profile measurements and emittance manipulation at the MAX-laboratory
Abstract : The emittances of the electron beams at the MAX-laboratory accelerator system have been studied. Apart from the build-up of the diagnostic tools for precise determination of the beam spatial profiles, the objectives have been: a) to verify the accelerator design emittances at low currents and to try to determine the emittances also at high currents; b) to investigate possibilities to manipulate the emittances.
