1. Combustion Sensing Methods - in Theory and Practice
Abstract : Accurate, reliable sensors are essential parts of any control system, and there are increasing needs for feedback systems to monitor and control key parameters of automotive internal combustion engines, operating in various combustion modes and configurations, to reduce fuel consumption and engine-out emissions. Thus, there are strong motives for studying combustion sensors. READ MORE

2. Electron Transport and Charge Control in Epitaxial Graphene
Abstract : Graphene monolayers and bilayers have attracted research interest in both the physics and electronic materials communities owing to their unique band structures. In a pristine monolayer, carriers travel at the Fermi velocity v_f = 1e8 cm/s and exhibit linear dispersion. READ MORE

3. Magnetodynamics of pseudo spin valves investigated using co-planar waveguide and spin torque ferromagnetic resonance techniques
Abstract : Nanocontact spin-torque nano-oscillators (NC-STNOs), based on magnetic multilayers, can generate a wide range of highly nonlinear localized and propagating spin wave modes for use in magnonics. In this thesis, we study some aspects of these structures from the fundamental physics point of view using the spin torque ferromagnetic resonance technique (ST-FMR) and conventional broadband FMR technique. 4. Monte Carlo simulation of electron transport in semiconducting zigzag carbon nanotubes
Abstract : Since the advent of nanoscale material based electronic devices, there has been a considerable interest in exploring carbon nanotubes from fundamental science and technological perspectives. In carbon nanotubes, the atoms form a cylindrical structure with a diameter of the order 1nm. READ MORE

5. Underwater Positioning
Abstract : The project underwater positioning was initiated by the Swedish National Road Administration (SNRA) in 1990. The aim of the project is to study positioning techniques and methods which can be used to position and locate man-made structures and features, especially engineering structures, piles for the foundation*laying of bridge pillars, in shallow water.
