  1. 1. Analytical Aspects of Atmospheric Pressure Ionisation in Mass Spectrometry

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : C. Fredrik Bökman; Uppsala universitet.; [2002]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Analytical chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : The actual signal recorded with an analytical instrument is not always a true reflection of the analysed sample. In this thesis a further insight of the atmospheric pressure ionisation processes electrospray (ESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionisation (APCI) has been endeavoured, to provide a deeper understanding of and ways to minimize this bias. 2. 2. Analytical Pyrolysis - Studies of Sulfur in Coal and Pulp

    University dissertation from Analytical Chemistry, Lund University

    Author : Pernille Selsbo; [1996]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; sulfur; pulp; PLS; PCA; fractionated pyrolysis; FPD; analytical pyrolysis; coal; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Sulfur in coal and pulp have been characterized using pyrolysis–gas chromatography with a sulfur-selective flame photometric detector (Py–GC/FPD). The samples (50–150 µg) were pyrolyzed at temperatures between 300 and 1400°C usually followed by a combustion in oxygen at high temperature (>1000°C). READ MORE

  3. 3. Lignin-carbohydrate complexes: Model compounds synthesis

    University dissertation from Chalmers University of Technology

    Author : Filip Nylander; Chalmers tekniska högskola.; Chalmers University of Technology.; [2015]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lignin-carbohydrate complex; lignin model compounds; lignocellulose;

    Abstract : In lignocellulose there is a recalcitrant interaction by covalent and non-covalent bonds called the lignin-carbohydrate complex. This interaction has been the subject of studies trying to unveil its chemical structure, to understand the mechanims involved in its formation and to determine its influence on practical applications such as the process of turning biomass into ethanol. Abstract : This thesis is based on five papers addressing variance reduction in different ways. The papers have in common that they all present new numerical methods. READ MORE

  5. 5. Modeling adsorption of organic compounds on activated carbon a multivariate approach

    University dissertation from Umeå : Kemi

    Author : Jufang Wu; Umeå universitet.; [2004]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; activated carbon; adsorption; adsorption capacity; adsorption rate; PCA; PLS; binary mixtures; Dubinin-Radushkevich; Wheeler-Jonas; Analytisk kemi; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Analytical chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Activated carbon is an adsorbent that is commonly used for removing organic contaminants from air due to its abundant pores and large internal surface area. This thesis is concerned with the static adsorption capacity and adsorption kinetics for single and binary organic compounds on different types of activated carbon. READ MORE
