  2. 2. Application of Laser Techniques in Combustion Environments of Relevance for Gas Turbine Studies

    Author : Andreas Lantz; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser Diagnostics; PLIF; Laser-Induced Fluorescence; Combustion; Fuel visualization; LIF; Gas turbine; Flashback; Flame position; Swirling flame; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Lantz;

    Abstract : In the work presented in this thesis, different laser-based techniques were employed for measurements in different combustion devices. Laser-based techniques enable non-intrusive and in-situ measurements to be carried out, in which high spatial and temporal resolution can be obtained. READ MORE

  3. 3. Isomeric yield ratios in nuclear fission

    Author : Zhihao Gao; Andreas Solders; Ali Al-Adili; Mattias Lantz; Stephan Pomp; Olivier Serot; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : Isomeric yield ratios (IYR), referring to the relative yield of the high spin states of a nucleus to the total yield of all observed states, is an observable of nuclear fission that has the potential to improve our understanding of the fission dynamics. Apart from that, systematic observations of IYRs can also contribute to other areas, such as the validation of fission models, modelling of the r-process in stellar nucleosynthesis, studies of the antineutrino mixing angle, the safety of present-day nuclear reactors, and the design of advanced reactor systems. 5. 5. Studying neutron-induced fission at IGISOL-4 : From neutron source to yield measurements and model comparisons

    Author : Andrea Mattera; Stephan Pomp; Mattias Lantz; Andreas Solders; Jonathan Wilson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Fission yields represent the probability of producing a certain nuclide in a fission event, and are important observables for fission research. For applications, accurate knowledge of the yields is fundamental at all stages of the fuel cycle of nuclear reactors, e.g., for reactivity calculations, or to estimate (spent) fuel inventory.
