  1. 1. Disturbances in food webs : Importance of species interactions from an ecological and evolutionary perspective

    Author : Anna Åkesson; Anna Eklöf; György Barabas; Vasilis Dakos; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Biodiversity loss is occurring globally at an unprecedented pace. This is not only followed by ethical concerns; it also affects all levels of an ecosystem, with wide-spread implications for ecosystem functioning, services and human well-being. READ MORE

  2. 2. Hydraulic- hydromorphologic analysis as an aid for improving peak flow predictions

    Author : Anna Åkesson; Anders Wörman; Göran Lindström; Rolf Larsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hydrological modelling; peak flow predictions; distributed routing; parameterisation; stage-dependency; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Abstract : Conventional hydrological compartmental models have been shown to exhibit a high degree of uncertainty for predictions of peak flows, such as the design floods for design of hydropower infrastructure. One reason for these uncertainties is that conventional models are parameterised using statistical methods based on how catchments have responded in the past. READ MORE

  3. 3. Peakflow response of stream networks : implications of physical descriptions of streams and temporal change

    Author : Anna Åkesson; Anders Wörman; Alberto Viglione; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Streamflow routing; peakflow predictions; parameterization; hydrological response; stage-dependency; flooded cross-sections; stream networks; backwater effects; temporal change; land use change; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Abstract : Through distributed stream network routing, it has quantitatively been shown that the relationship between flow travel time and discharge varies strongly nonlinearly with stream stage and with catchment-specific properties.Physically derived distributions of water travel times through a stream network were successfully used to parameterise the streamflow response function of a compartmental hydrological model. 4. 4. Combinations of type 1 diabetes, celiac disease and allergy : An immunological challenge

    Author : Anna Kivling; Maria Faresjö; Lennart Nilsson; Karin Åkesson; Ragnar Bjarnason; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The immune system is composed of a complex network of different cell types protecting the body against various possible threats. Among these cells are T-helper (Th) cells type 1 (Th1) and type 2 (Th2), as well as T regulatory (Treg) cells. READ MORE

  5. 5. Persistent Digital Service Encounters : Challenges of organizational use of social media in a hotel chain

    Author : Karin Högberg; Kerstin Grundén; Anna Karin Olsson; Maria Åkesson; Högskolan Väst; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Organizational social media; IT change; IT use; hospitality; digital service encounters; Informatik; Informatics; Work Integrated Learning; Arbetsintegrerat lärande;

    Abstract : The emergence of social media has in many ways changed how individuals interact, communicate and also consume online. Due to the massive, world wide use of social media, organizations are starting to use social media in order to be present where their customers are. READ MORE
