1. Analysis of PCBs with special emphasis on comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography of atropisomers
Abstract : There are 209 PCB congeners, 136 of which have been found in technical PCB mixtures and hence may be found in the environment as a result of either intentional or unintentional release. The identification and quantification of the congeners are difficult due to analytical bias from coeluting PCBs and other persistent organic pollutants. READ MORE

3. Serotonergic aporphine derivatives : Synthesis and structure-activity relationships
Abstract : Novel series of well-characterized and stereochemically pure 11-substituted (R)-aporphine derivatives have been prepared and their interaction with serotonin 5-HT7 and 5-HT1A receptors and dopamine D2A and D1 receptors have been studied. Efficient palladium catalyzed reactions were utilized for the diastereoselective synthesis of atropisomers as well as for the synthesis of several of the other (R)-aporphine derivatives. READ MORE

4. New Techniques for Chiral Separations
Abstract : Gas chromatography (GC) has been utilized for the study of enantiomer resolution of the atropisomers of PCBs, o,p´-DDD and o,p´-DDT. Different substituents and concentrations of cyclodextrin, capillary dimensions and type of stationary phase films have been investigated to achieve the resolution of as many of the atropisomers on one column as possible. 5. Bis(4-chlorophenyl) sulfone and PCB methyl sulfone metabolites : Trends and chirality in the Baltic Sea environment
Abstract : The Baltic Sea was earlier identified as a highly polluted brackish water body and still is. The high concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), p,p’-DDT and related compounds led to severe effects on several species in the Baltic region. READ MORE
