  1. 1. The Buddhist World Emperor's Mission : Millenarian Buddhism in Postcolonial Burma

    Author : Niklas Foxeus; Per-Arne Berglie; Erik af Edholm; Guillaume Rozenberg; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Buddhism; millenarianism; weizzā weikza ; esotericism; supernatural powers; identity; politics; Burma; Theravāda Buddhism; cakkavattin; authority; legitimacy; charisma; History of religion; Religionshistoria; History of Religion; religionshistoria;

    Abstract : In early postcolonial Burma, a number of so-called royal esoteric associations with a millenarian and eschatological orientation, and founded by persons believed to be the world emperor, emerged in response to political turmoil, nation-building projects, modernization, and after-effects of colonialism. These Theravāda Buddhist esoteric congregations, revivalist and innovative at the same time, were indicative of a general crisis of authority and identity. READ MORE

  3. 3. Ordered arrays of low-dimensional Au and Pd : synthesis and in situ observations

    Author : Giuseppe Abbondanza; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nanowires NWs ; nanorods; nanoparticles; Au; Pd; Al; Al2O3; anodization; nano-porous anodic aluminum oxide; powder diffraction; x-ray diffraction; x-ray scattering; SAXS; WAXS; grazing-incidence; two-dimensional surface optical reflectance;

    Abstract : Electrodeposition of metals in templates of nano-porous anodic aluminum oxide (NP-AAO) is a versatile way of fabricating ordered arrays of metal nanowires. Thanks to the self-arranged long-range hexagonal order of the pores, electrodeposition in NP-AAO is an easily scalable bottom-up synthesis route and an attractive alternative to traditional top-down fabrication methods such as electron beam lithography. 4. 4. Electrical Properties of Gold-related Defect Complexes in Silicon

    Author : Einar Sveinbjörnsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; DLTS; gettering; Au in Si; lithium diffusion; Au-H complexes; Au-Li complexes; deep levels; phosphorus diffusion; hydrogen in silicon;

    Abstract : This thesis describes three extensive experiments concerning the properties of gold as an impurity atom in crystalline silicon. The first study is an investigation of the effect of phosphorus diffusion on the distribution of gold atoms within a silicon crystal. READ MORE

  5. 5. Using Light to Probe Surface Electrochemical Processes

    Author : Weronica Linpe; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electrochemistry; X-ray methods; In situ; synchrotron radiation; Ex situ; Single crystal; polycrystalline; aluminium oxide; Au; Pd; Pt; Sn; Super duplex stainless steel.; Fysicumarkivet A:2021:Linpé;

    Abstract : This thesis shows how various light-based in situ techniques can be used to follow different surface electrochemical processes such as electrochemical deposition into Nanoporous Anodic Aluminium Oxide (NP-AAO) templates and the surface structure of electrodes. Techniques based on both x-rays and visible light were used to follow surface structures and compositions, in situ. READ MORE
