  1. 1. Recursive Bayesian Estimation : Navigation and Tracking Applications

    Author : Niclas Bergman; Fredrik Gustafsson; Lennart Ljung; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Target tracking; Autonomous aircraft navigation; Terrain navigation;

    Abstract : Recursive estimation deals with the problem of extracting information about parameters, or states, of a dynamical system in real time, given noisy measurements of the system output. Recursive estimation plays a central role in many applications of signal processing, system identification and automatic control. READ MORE

  2. 2. Selected Aspects of Navigation and Path Planning in Unmanned Aircraft Systems

    Author : Mariusz Wzorek; Andrzej Szałas; Jacek Malec; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Path planning; motion planning; autonomous Unmanned Aircraft Systems UAS ; Hierarchical Concurrent State Machines HCSM ; UAV;

    Abstract : Unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) are an important future technology with early generations already being used in many areas of application encompassing both military and civilian domains. This thesis proposes a number of integration techniques for combining control-based navigation with more abstract path planning functionality for UASs. READ MORE

  3. 3. Bayesian Inference in Terrain Navigation

    Author : Niclas Bergman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Terrain navigation is a concept for autonomous aircraft navigation. If measurements of the terrain height over mean sea-level are collected along the aircraft flight path, an estimate of the aircraft position can be formed by matching these measurements with a digital reference terrain map. This matching is a recursive nonlinear estimation problem. READ MORE

  4. 4. Increasing Autonomy of Unmanned Aircraft Systems Through the Use of Imaging Sensors

    Author : Piotr Rudol; Andrzej Szalas; Pascual Campoy; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; UAV; UAS; UAV autonomy; human-body detection; color-thermal image fusion; vehicle tracking; geolocation; UAV indoor navigation;

    Abstract : The range of missions performed by Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) has been steadily growing in the past decades thanks to continued development in several disciplines. The goal of increasing the autonomy of UAS's is widening the range of tasks which can be carried out without, or with minimal, external help. READ MORE
