1. Signaling determinants in Trojan horse-mediated dissemination of Toxoplasma gondii
Abstract : Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular parasite that infects all warm-blooded vertebrates including one third of the global human population. While infection is typically asymptomatic in healthy human hosts, reactivated and acute infection in immunosuppressed or immunecompromised individuals can lead to lethal toxoplasmic encephalitis After ingestion, the parasite crosses the intestinal epithelium and rapidly achieves systemic dissemination, ultimately establishing chronic infection in the brain. 2. Standardization of Islet Isolation and Transplantation Variables
Abstract : Currently, the transplantation of islets of Langerhans is a viable means to maintain control of blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of hypoglycemia in defined populations with brittle type I diabetes mellitus or those requiring pancreatectomy. However, the process of islet isolation is highly variable and not all isolations result in islet numbers or quality suitable for transplantation. READ MORE

3. Bone Development and the Nervous System
Abstract : Innervation of bone influence bone modeling, growth and remodeling. Pro-inflammatory cytokines released after tissue trauma are recognized as neurotrophic factors as well as factors influencing bone formation. The Wnt signaling pathway, essential for cell migration during embryogenesis is found to influence bone formation during fracture healing. READ MORE

4. Functional collaboration between HLH transcription factors in B cell development
Abstract : The cells in B cell development can be divided into several subgroups or fractions, e.g. early-pro-B-, pro-B, large-pre-B-, small-pre-B-, immature and mature B cells, where the stages reflect the maturity degree of the cells. READ MORE

5. Defining the role of CD47 and SIRPα in murine B cell homeostasis
Abstract : B cell development is a highly organized process, which commences in the fetal liver during embryogenesis and in the bone marrow (BM) after birth. Surface IgM+ immature B cells emigrate from the BM via the blood stream to the spleen and finally differentiate into conventional mature follicular B (FoB) cells and marginal zone (MZ) B cells.
