1. Flannery O'Connor's View of the Modern Alienation from Sacramental Religion
Abstract : Mary Flannery O’Connor (1925-64) was born in Savannah, Georgia as the only child of the American Irish Catholics Edward Francis O’Connor, Jr. and Regina Cline O’Connor. In 1952 her first novel Wise Blood, in 1955 the short story collection A Good Man Is Hard to Find, and in 1960 her second novel, The Violent Bear It Away were published. READ MORE

2. Haptoglobin: Biosynthesis and Evolution
Abstract : Haptoglobin (Hp) is a serum protein known for its ability to form a tight complex with hemoglobin (Hb) and thereby inhibiting the oxidative activity of Hb. Mammalian Hp is synthesized as a precursor (proHp) that undergoes proteolytic cleavage by a previously unidentified enzyme in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). READ MORE

3. The structure and conformation of saccharides determined by experiment and simulation
Abstract : A computer program, CASPER, for sequence determination of oligosaccharides and regular polysaccharides using NMR-data, has been extended to support multiply branched structures. The program has been modified to allow the use of incomplete experimental data since spectral overlap can be a problem even at high fields. READ MORE

4. Spectral estimates for the magnetic Schrödinger operator and the Heisenberg Laplacian
Abstract : I denna avhandling, som omfattar fyra forskningsartiklar, betraktas två operatorer inom den matematiska fysiken. De båda tidigare artiklarna innehåller resultat för Schrödingeroperatorn med Aharonov-Bohm-magnetfält. READ MORE

5. Electronic Energy Transfer within Asymmetric Pairs of Fluorophores: Partial Donor-Donor Energy Migration (PDDEM)
Abstract : A kinetic model of electronic energy migration within pairs of photophysically non-identical fluorophores has been developed. The model applies to fluorescent groups that exhibit different photophysical and spectral properties when attached to different positions in a macromolecule. READ MORE
