1. Crossed Product Structures Associated with Topological Dynamical Systems
Abstract : We study connections between topological dynamical systems and associated algebras of crossed product type. We derive equivalences between structural properties of a crossed product and dynamical properties of the associated system and furthermore derive qualitative results concerning the crossed product that are true regardless of the corresponding dynamical system. 2. Interpolation of Subcouples, New Results and Applications
Abstract : Suppose that X and Y are Banach couples and suppose that there is a bounded linear couple map Q from Y to X which has the property that Q restricted to the endpoint spaces is injective and the images of the endpointspaces of Y are closed in the endpoint spaces of X, then we say that Y is a subcouple of X. If F is an interpolation functor we want to know how F(Y) is related to F(X). READ MORE

3. Some Resolvent Estimates in Harmonic Analysis
Abstract : This thesis contains three papers about three different estimates of resolvents in harmonic analysis. These papers are: Paper 1. ``A Wiener tauberian theorem for weighted convolution algebras of zonal functions on the automorphism group of the unit disc'' Paper 2. ``Uniform spectral radius and compact Gelfand transform'' Paper 3. 4. Ideals and boundaries in Algebras of Holomorphic functions
Abstract : We investigate the spectrum of certain Banach algebras. Properties like generators of maximal ideals and generalized Shilov boundaries are studied. READ MORE

5. Descriptive Set Theory and Applications
Abstract : The systematic study of Polish spaces within the scope of Descriptive Set Theory furnishes the working mathematician with powerful techniques and illuminating insights. In this thesis, we start with a concise recapitulation of some classical aspects of Descriptive Set Theory which is followed by a succint review of topological groups, measures and some of their associated algebras.
