1. Rapid measurements of the moisture content in biofuel
Abstract : An increasing number of power plants in Scandinavia are beginning to use biofuel instead of coal or oil. The material in the new fuel is a mixture of woodchips, mostly Pine, Spruce and Salix, bark, GROT (tops and branches from felling waste) and sawdust from sawmills. It is heterogeneous, having a moisture content varying from 15% up to 65%. READ MORE

2. On the subjective–objective distinction for measures of memory and cognition : Theoretical and methodological issues in questionnaire development and validation
Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to develop a questionnaire for cognitive functioning, which could possibly be used as a screening instrument for early signs of dementia in the future. The introduction discusses the often made distinction between subjective and objective measures. READ MORE

3. Zinc Oxide Bulk and Nanorods
Abstract : Zinc Oxide (ZnO) has many promising properties for optoelectronics, sensor applications, transparent electronics etc. To mention a few, ZnO has a large exciton binding energy (60 meV at room temperature) and a direct wide bandgap energy of 3.37 eV. In addition, ZnO is piezoelectric and shows more resistance to radiation damage than Si and GaN. READ MORE

4. µPIV Measurement of Grease Velocity Profiles
Abstract : Lubricating grease is commonly applied to lubricate e.g. rolling bearings, seals and gears. Grease has some clear advantages over lubricating oil. READ MORE

5. Investigation of deep levels in bulk GaN
Abstract : The first gallium nitride (GaN) crystal was grown by hydride vapor phase epitaxy in 1969 by Maruska and Tietjen and since then, there has been an intensive development of the field, especially after the ground breaking discoveries concerning growth and p-type doping of GaN done by the 2014 year Nobel Laureates in Physics, Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano and Shuji Nakamura. GaN and its alloys with In and Al belong to a semiconductor group which is referred as the III-nitrides. READ MORE
