  1. 1. Ion Beam Analysis of First Wall Materials Exposed to Plasma in Fusion Devices

    Author : Per Petersson; Göran Possnert; Anders Hallén; Marek Rubel; Eduardo C. Alves; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ion beam analysis; Microbeam; Plasma wall interaction; Deuterium; Beryllium; Carbon fibre composites; Divertor; Nuclear reaction analysis; Helium-3; Plasma physics with fusion; Plasmafysik med fusion; Ion Physics; Jonfysik;

    Abstract : One major step needed for fusion to become a reliable energy source is the development of materials for the extreme conditions (high temperature, radioactivity and erosion) caused by hot plasmas. The main goal of the present study is to use and optimise ion beam methods (lateral resolution and sensitivity) to characterise the distribution of hydrogen isotopes that act as fuel. READ MORE

  2. 2. Towards Institutional Stabilization and Development? : A Study of Inter-Organizational Cooperation in the Tajik Cotton Industry

    Author : Anna C. Spånning; Curt Räftegård; Susan Marton; Daniele Caramani; Bo Petersson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Cooperation; cotton industry; institutional stability and instability; Farmers’ Ownership Model project; inter-organizational collective activities; Tajikistan.; Political science; Statsvetenskap; Political Science; Statsvetenskap;

    Abstract : Close to two decades after the break-up of the Soviet Union, there is still a marked difference in developmental paths, including institutional as well as economic development and performance among the states emerging from the ruins of the vast empire. Turning attention to the least successful post-Soviet region, Central Asia, and Tajikistan in particular, this thesis provides a contribution to the discussion of how to institutionalize social power and build the foundations for political community in post-colonial societies. 3. 3. The Highest Force Hypothesis : Subordination in Swedish

    Author : David Petersson; Svenska som främmande språk; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Swedish; subordination; embedded V2; reported speech; exclamatives; V2 word order; V-to-C-movement; illocutionary Force;

    Abstract : This study discusses subordination in Swedish from the perspective of three construction types that involve clauses that have traditionally been difficult to classify as unambiguous main or subordinate clauses: “embedded V2”-constructions, direct speech constructions, and exclamatives. A general hypothesis regarding subordination and "superordination” is proposed: The Highest Force Hypothesis. READ MORE

  4. 4. Dendritic and axonal ion channels supporting neuronal integration : From pyramidal neurons to peripheral nociceptors

    Author : Marcus Petersson; Erik Fransén; Theodore Cummins; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ion channels; computational modeling; simulations; dendrites; axons; TRP; hippocampus; C-fiber nociceptors; pain;

    Abstract : The nervous system, including the brain, is a complex network with billions of complex neurons. Ion channels mediate the electrical signals that neurons use to integrate input and produce appropriate output, and could thus be thought of as key instruments in the neuronal orchestra. READ MORE

  5. 5. Everyday life and home modification for older adults : impacts, concepts and instrument development

    Author : Ingela Petersson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Community living; environmental interventions; occupational therapy; ADL; selfreport; elderly; intervention study; autonomy;

    Abstract : The general aim of this thesis was to increase knowledge about the impact of homemodifications (HMs) on aspects of everyday life tasks among older adults living withdisability. The thesis also aimed to further develop an instrument assessing ability to performeveryday life tasks and to explore and describe experiences of safety and security in everydaylife after home modifications.
