1. Interaction of C60 with transition metals for thin film applications
Abstract : The fullerene molecule C60 is known to undergo many different chemical reactions, including intercalation of alkali- and alkaline earth metals. Relatively little is still known about the reaction between transition metals and C60, and the objective of this thesis was therefore-to investigate the chemical interaction between C60 and some group IV-VI transition metals. 2. Hydroarylation of Fullerene C60 Using Arylboronic Acids via Rhodium Catalysis : Improving the Outcomes and Simplifying the Conditions
Abstract : Hydroarylation with arylboronic acids is one of the functionalization methods for synthesis of modified fullerenes. In this work, we provide a fast and reproducible one-phase method for hydroarylation of fullerene using boronic acids and an analytical HPLC method that efficiently separates unreacted C60 and product from a hydroarylation reaction mixture as well as a fulleropyrrolidine reaction mixture. 3. Angle-Dependent Electron Spectroscopy Studies of C60 Compounds and Carbon Nanotubes
Abstract : Fullerenes have been shown to constitute a prototypical building block for truly nanometer-sized devices and exotic nanounit-based materials, e.g., high-temperature superconductors. READ MORE

4. Fullerene γ-Cyclodextrin Complexes
Abstract : The fullerenes, C60 and C70, can form inclusion complexes with .gamma.-cyclodextrin as the host. The complexes are formed by refluxing a water solution of . READ MORE

5. Ions colliding with molecules and molecular clusters : fragmentation and growth processes
Abstract : In this work we will discuss fragmentation and molecular growth processes in collisions of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH) molecules, fullerenes, or their clusters with atoms or atomic ions. Simple collision models as well as molecular structure calculations are used to aid the interpretations of the present and other experimental results. READ MORE
