  1. 1. Computer Assisted Video Microscopy : in Characterization of Capillary Ensembles

    Author : Claes Asker; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : computer assisted video microscopy; capillary loops; capillary ensembles; skin microcirculation; triangulation; nearest neighbour; MEDICINE;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on evaluation and analysis of capillary microcirculatory changes in the skin, that can be improved and extended by computer assisted video microscopy. Capillary microscopy has been used extensively, both in clinical practice and research, to study different phenomena in the microvasculature of the skin, mainly in the nailfold of fingers and toes where a large portion of the capillary loop can be observed. 2. 2. Nanoparticle-based capillary electrochromatography

    Author : Peter Spégel; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Teknik; Technological sciences; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Nanoparticles; Molecularly imprinted polymers; Capillary electrochromatography;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns a highly efficient nanoparticle-based capillary electrochromatography separation technique and its coupling with mass spectrometric detection. From chromatographic theory, it is well known that the separation efficiency increases with decreasing particle size. READ MORE

  3. 3. Nanoparticle-based Capillary Electrochromatography - Separation of Small Molecules and Proteins

    Author : Christian Nilsson; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nanoparticles; Capillary Electrochromatography; Green Fluorescent protein; Pseudostationary Phase; Capillary Electrophoresis;

    Abstract : The use of nanoparticle-based pseudostationary phases (PSPs) in capillary electrochromatography (CEC) for separation of small molecules and proteins is demonstrated. A continuous full filling approach is used where the nanoparticles are suspended in the electrolyte. READ MORE

  4. 4. Bioanalytical separation using capillary electrophoresis : Applications with microbubbles and proteins

    Author : Leila Josefsson; Åsa Emmer; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Background electrolyte; capillary electrophoresis; contrast agents; electroosmotic flow; ethylammonium nitrate; ionic liquids; microbubbles; particles; polyvinyl alcohol microbubbles; and separation; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : In this thesis the possibilities of using capillary electrophoresis as a separation technique for analysis of proteins and microbubbles is presented.A complete analytical process consists of five necessary steps of which one is the actual analysis step. For this step a suitable analytical technique is needed. READ MORE

  5. 5. Capillary and interstitial transport of fluid and solutes across the peritoneal membrane

    Author : Ola Carlsson; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; vascular resistance.; capillary pressure; aquaporins; Capillary permeability; vesicular transport; Urology; nephrology; Urologi; nefrologi;

    Abstract : According to the three-pore model of peritoneal transport the major exchange pathway between the blood and the peritoneal cavity is represented by “small pores”, permeable to small solutes and water. Osmotically induced fluid flow, as during peritoneal dialysis (PD), is postulated to occur to a great extent through a water-only pathway, whereas proteins are predicted to reach the peritoneal cavity by unidirectional convection across “large pores”.
