  1. 1. Activation of CO2 by Palladium Complexes Bearing Tridentate PCP Ligands

    Author : Roger Johansson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metallorganisk kemi; Organometallic chemistry; Kinetics; Insertion reactions; PCP ligands; CO2 activation; Palladium II complexes;

    Abstract : The present thesis deals with the activation of CO2 by insertion reactions into palladium-carbon bonds. This has been realised for the complexes {2,6-bis[(di-t-butylphosphino)methyl]benzene}palladium(II)methyl [(PCP)PdMe] and (PCP)PdCH2CHCH2. These complexes have also been used in the catalytic carboxylation of ZnMe2 and Bu3SnCH2CHCH2. READ MORE

  2. 2. Mechanical activation of clay : a novel route to sustainable cementitious binders

    Author : Ilda Tole; Andrzej Cwirzen; Mirja Illikainen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; clay; sustainability; mechanical activation; ball milling; supplementary cementitious materials; alkali-activated materials; Byggmaterial; Building Materials;

    Abstract : EU Sustainable Development Strategy planned to achieve improvement of life-quality by promoting sustainable production and consumption of raw materials. On November 2018, EU Commission presented a long-term strategy, aiming among others a climate-neutral economy by 2050. Cement production is contributing to 6-10% of the anthropogenic CO2 emissions. 4. 4. CO2 activation for methanol synthesis on copper and indium oxide surfaces

    Author : Alvaro Posada Borbon; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Methanol conversion; Heterogeneous catalysis; Density functional theory; Copper surface; Indium oxide; CO2 reduction;

    Abstract : Catalytic recycling of CO2 to added-value chemicals, such as methanol (CH3OH), has been proposed as a possible way for sustainable production of fuel and chemicals, in addition to providing a route to mitigate climate change. Multiple systems are known to be active for the conversion of CO2 to methanol, and the state of the art catalyst is Cu/ZnO/Al2O3. READ MORE

  5. 5. Assemblies of Colloidal Hydrochar Nanoparticles and their Derived Activated Carbons for CO2 Sorption

    Author : Xia Wang; Niklas Hedin; Gunnar Svensson; Oren Regev; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; colloids; hydrothermal carbonization; glucose; directed assembly; reactive infiltration; templating; silicon carbide; tricopper silicide; redispersion; nanoparticles; chemical activation; activated carbons; CO2 sorption; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Abstract : Carbon-rich colloids are of great fundamental and technological interest and in this thesis, I tested a range of hypotheses and studied aspects of small hydrochar-based colloids and their colloidal and material chemistry. Crude hydrochar dispersions were synthesized by hydrothermal carbonization of glucose and purified by dialysis. READ MORE
