1. Aspects of Optimisation of Separation of Drugs by Chemometrics
Abstract : Statistical experimental designs have been used for method development and optimisation of separation. Two reversed phase HPLC methods were optimised. READ MORE

2. New Techniques for Chiral Separations
Abstract : Gas chromatography (GC) has been utilized for the study of enantiomer resolution of the atropisomers of PCBs, o,p´-DDD and o,p´-DDT. Different substituents and concentrations of cyclodextrin, capillary dimensions and type of stationary phase films have been investigated to achieve the resolution of as many of the atropisomers on one column as possible. 3. Chiral Separation of Amines by Non-Aqueous Capillary Electrophoresis using Low Molecular Weight Selectors
Abstract : Three chiral selectors (diketogulonic acid, benzoxycarbonylglycylproline and ketopinic acid) have been introduced for enantioseparation of pharmacologically active amines in non-aqueous capillary electrophoresis. The use of organic solvents, instead of aqueous buffers in the background electrolyte facilitated ion-pair formation between the analytes and the chiral selectors. READ MORE

4. Separation of Pharmaceuticals by Capillary Electrophoresis using Partial Filling and Multiple-injections
Abstract : Different multiple-injection methodologies and the partial filling technique (PFT) have been utilized for separation of pharmaceuticals by capillary elec-trophoresis. In multiple-injection capillary zone electrophoresis (MICZE), the samples and all standards, used for construction of the calibration curve, are analyzed within a single run. READ MORE

5. Development of LC-MS/MS Methods for the Analysis of Chiral and Achiral Pharmaceuticals and Metabolites in Aqueous Environmental Matrices
Abstract : This thesis describes the development of liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) methods for the trace analysis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and their metabolites in aqueous environmental matrices. The research was focused on the development of chiral LC-MS/MS methods for the analysis of fluoxetine and metoprolol, as well as their chiral metabolites in environmental water samples. READ MORE
