1. Nuclear Intonation in Swedish : Evidence from Experimental-Phonetic Studies and a Comparison with German
Abstract : This thesis investigates Swedish intonation patterns and their interaction with word accent realisation in various pragmatic conditions, using German as a reference language. The point of departure is the wide-spread assumption that Swedish, as a language with a tonal word accent distinction, has a considerably smaller repertoire of nuclear intonation contours than German and other so-called intonation languages. 2. Palladium-Catalysed Couplings in Organic Synthesis : Exploring Catalyst-Presenting Strategies and Medicinal Chemistry Applications
Abstract : Palladium-catalysed coupling reactions have been embraced by synthetic chemists as one of the preferred means for smooth formation of new carbon-carbon bonds: a truly ubiquitous methodology of synthesizing complex molecules. This thesis describes the study of a series of palladium(0)-catalysed C2-arylations of a 1-cyclopentenyl ether, equipped with a chiral (S)-N-methyl-pyrrolidine auxiliary. 3. Modeling, Control and Optimization of a Plate Reactor
Abstract : A new chemical reactor, the Alfa Laval Plate Reactor, is being developed by Alfa Laval, a Swedish world-leading heat exchanger company. The plate reactor combines the high-heat-transfer capabilities of plate heat exchangers with the efficient mixing and reaction control typical of microreactors. READ MORE

4. Catalytic Reduction of NOx on Heavy-Duty Trucks
Abstract : The objective of the work described in this thesis is to identify the principles and parts of an aftertreatment system for the catalytic NOx reduction for heavy-duty diesel vehicles, and to demonstrate such a system in full-scale. The reducing agent is diesel fuel. READ MORE
