  1. 1. Modified Glycopeptides Targeting Rheumatoid Arthritis : Exploring molecular interactions in class II MHC/glycopeptide/T-cell receptor complexes

    Author : Ida E. Andersson; Jan Kihlberg; Anna Linusson Jonsson; Craig Crews; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Major histocompatibility complex; class II MHC; T-cell receptor; rheumatoid arthritis; collagen-induced arthritis; glycopeptide; amide bond isostere; comparative modeling; rational design; molecular docking; molecular dynamics simulation; statistical molecular design; Bioorganic chemistry; Bioorganisk kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry; Biorganic Chemistry; bioorganisk kemi; datorlingvistik; computational linguistics;

    Abstract : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune inflammatory disease that leads to degradation of cartilage and bone mainly in peripheral joints. In collagen-induced arthritis (CIA), a mouse model for RA, activation of autoimmune CD4+ T cells depends on a molecular recognition system where T-cell receptors (TCRs) recognize a complex between the class II MHC Aq protein and CII259-273, a glycopeptide epitope from type II collagen (CII). 2. 2. Class-E Power Amplifiers for Pulsed Transmitters

    Author : MUSTAFA ÖZEN; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; RF-PWM; pulsed transmitters; frequency agility; energy efficiency; Class-E;

    Abstract : Nowadays the main driving parameters for the radio transmitter research are: energy efficiency, frequency re-configurability and integration. Pulsed transmitter architectures have attracted large interest in the recent years due to their potential to meet these demands. READ MORE

  3. 3. A new non-linear GARCH model

    Author : Gustaf E. Hagerud; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This dissertation contains four papers in the field of financial econometrics. In the first paper, A Smooth Transition ARCH Model for Asset Returns, a new class of ARCH models is introduced. The model class allows for non-linearity in the equation for the conditional variance. 4. 4. Identification and functional characterization of novel thioredoxin systems

    Author : Anastasios E Damdimopoulos; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Antioxidants; Reactive Oxygen Species; Tbioredoxin; Tbioredoxin Reductase;

    Abstract : Thioredoxins (Trx) are a class of small multifunctional 12-kDa proteins that are characterized by the redox active site Trp-Cys-Gly-Pro-Cys (WCGPC). In the oxidized (inactive) form of Trx (Trx-S2), the two cysteines at the active site form a disulfide bond. READ MORE

  5. 5. Transformation through Integration

    Author : Monica E Nilsson; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Integration; pre-school teacher; recreation pedagogue; schoolteacher; contradiction; expansive learning; mediation; tool.;

    Abstract : Abstract This study analyzes an attempt at integration of a pre-school class, a leisure-time center and an elementary school in Sweden. The integration was organized in the form of Vertical Track which implies a successive development of groups comprising children between six and twelve years old, pre-school teachers, recreation pedagogues, and schoolteachers.
