1. Low Power and Low complexity Constant Multiplication using Serial Arithmetic
Abstract : The main issue in this thesis is to minimize the energy consumption per operation for the arithmetic parts of DSP circuits, such as digital filters. More specific, the focus is on single- and multiple-constant multiplication using serial arithmetic. The possibility to reduce the complexity and energy consumption is investigated. READ MORE

2. Low Power and Low Complexity Shift-and-Add Based Computations
Abstract : The main issue in this thesis is to minimize the energy consumption per operation for the arithmetic parts of DSP circuits, such as digital filters. More specific, the focus is on single- and multiple-constant multiplications, which are realized using shift-and-add based computations. The possibilities to reduce the complexity, i.e. READ MORE

3. Systems of Linear First Order Partial Differential Equations Admitting a Bilinear Multiplication of Solutions
Abstract : The Cauchy–Riemann equations admit a bilinear multiplication of solutions, since the product of two holomorphic functions is again holomorphic. This multiplication plays the role of a nonlinear superposition principle for solutions, allowing for construction of new solutions from already known ones, and it leads to the exceptional property of the Cauchy–Riemann equations that all solutions can locally be built from power series of a single solution z = x + iy ∈ C. 4. Optimization of Rotations in FFTs
Abstract : The aims of this thesis are to reduce the complexity and increasethe accuracy of rotations carried out inthe fast Fourier transform (FFT) at algorithmic and arithmetic level. In FFT algorithms, rotations appear after every hardware stage, which are alsoreferred to as twiddle factor multiplications. 5. Aspects of the Duality between Supersymmetric Yang-Mills Theory and String Theory
Abstract : This thesis deals with three topics related to the Ads/CFT correspondence. In Paper I, solutions describing the geometry of fractional D1-branes of Type IIB string theory are presented. The running coupling constant is computed on the gauge theory side. READ MORE
