  1. 1. Experimental Results of a Load-Controlled Vertical Axis Marine Current Energy Converter

    Author : Johan Forslund; Mats Leijon; Karin Thomas; Jan Sundberg; Tom Blackmore; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Marine Current; Vertical Axis; Load Control; ; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates the load control of a marine current energy converter using a vertical axis turbine mounted on a permanent magnet synchronous generator. The purpose of this thesis is to show the work done in the so far relatively uncharted territory of control systems for hydro kinetic energy conversion. READ MORE

  2. 2. Ten-year outcome of anorexia nervosa with teenage onset

    Author : Elisabet Wentz; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; anorexia nervosa; controlled; population study; prospective; follow-up; outcome; psychosocial functioning; comorbidity; personality disorders; autism spectrum disorders; psychiatric disorders; Morgan-Russell scales; GAF; physical health; neurology; dysdiadochokinesis; family study.;

    Abstract : Objectives: To study prospectively the relatively long-term outcome in a representative sample of teenage onset anorexia nervosa (AN) in respect of overall outcome, physical health, psychiatric disorders, and personality disorders and to investigate familial factors among first-degree relatives. Method: A group of 51 cases (48 female, 3 male) with AN, recruited by community screening (including the total AN population (minus one individual) from one birth cohort), with a mean age of onset of 14 years, was contrasted with an age-, sex-, and school-matched group of 51 comparison cases on various measures of outcome at a mean age of 24 years (10 years after reported AN onset). 3. 3. Three Phase Controlled Fault Interruption Using High Voltage SF6 Circuit Breakers

    Author : Richard Thomas; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; controlled switching; high voltage; hypothesis testing; circuit breakers; fault interruption; least mean squares regression; power system protection;

    Abstract : A method is presented for implementing controlled fault interruption,using high voltage, SF6 circuit breakers on three phase high voltage powernetworks. The main goal of the method is to synchronize the opening or tripcommands to each phase of a circuit breaker with respect to target currentzero times so that each phase will interrupt with a preselected arcingtime. 4. 4. Controlled growth of metastable Ta3N5 semiconducting films

    Author : Jui-Che Chang; Ching-Lien Hsiao; Jens Birch; Grzegorz Greczynski; Martin Rudolph; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The semiconductor tritantalum pentanitride (Ta3N5) is a promising material for green energy applications, specifically in the photoelectrolysis of water to produce oxygen and hydrogen. With a bandgap of approximately 2 eV, Ta3N5 is well-suited for efficient solar light absorption across a broad spectrum, and its band positions align favorably with the redox potential of water. 5. 5. Phalangeal fractures : current treatments, complications and innovations

    Author : Johanna von Kieseritzky; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Phalangeal fractures are common and most of them heal well without surgical intervention. However, the comminuted and displaced unstable fractures sometimes require surgery. There are many different surgical options available such as K-wires, screws of different kinds, plates and screws, and external fixations. READ MORE
