  1. 1. Coordinated Routing : applications in location and inventory management

    Author : Henrik Andersson; Peter Värbrand; Marielle Christiansen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Optimization; coordinated routing; inventory routing; ship routing; location; decision support; mathematical modeling; Optimization; systems theory; Optimeringslära; systemteori;

    Abstract : Almost everywhere, routing plays an important role in everyday life. This thesis consists of three parts, each studying different applications where routing decisions are coordinated with other decisions. A common denominator in all applications is that an intelligent utilization of a fleet of vehicles is crucial for the performance of the system. READ MORE

  2. 2. Multi-Agent Planning and Coordination Under Resource Constraints

    Author : Federico Pecora; Italy Rome “La Sapienza” University of Rome; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Planning; scheduling; multi-agent systems; resource constraints; distributed constraint reasoning; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : The research described in this thesis stems from ROBOCARE1, a three year research project aimed at developing software and robotic technology for providing intelligent support for elderly people. This thesis deals with two problems which have emerged in the course of the project’s development:Multi-agent coordination with scarce resources. READ MORE

  3. 3. Need for speed : towards urban planning for rapid transitioning to sustainable personal mobility

    Author : Varvara Nikulina; Henrik Ny; David Simon; Henrikke Baumann; Göran Broman; Ulf Ranhagen; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; personal mobility; urban planning; rapid transition; sustainability;

    Abstract : The Paris Agreement, the recent Special Report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and the Sustainable Development Goals are examples of United Nation’s facilitated calls for urgent climate action and more generally for a rapid transition of society towards sustainability. Since urban personal mobility is a significant contributor to society’s current sustainability challenges, and considering current trends of population growth and urbanisation, there is a strong need to develop enhanced support for urban planning for rapid transitioning to sustainable personal mobility. 4. 4. Multi-Robot Motion Planning Optimisation for Handling Sheet Metal Parts

    Author : Emile Glorieux; Bengt Lennartson; Fredrik Danielsson; Bo Svensson; Högskolan Väst; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Multi-robot systems; motion planning; modelling and simulation; optimisation; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Abstract : Motion planning for robot operations is concerned with path planning and trajectory generation. In multi-robot systems, i.e. with multiple robots operating simultaneously in a shared workspace, the motion planning also needs to coordinate the robots' motions to avoid collisions between them. 5. 5. Strategic Life-Cycle Modeling and Simulation for Sustainable Product Innovation

    Author : Henrik Ny; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sustainable product innovation; planning; strategy; backcasting; life-cycle assessment LCA ; strategic life-cycle management SLCM ; systems; modeling; simulation;

    Abstract : Many specific methods and tools have been developed to deal with sustainability problems. However, without a unifying theory it is unclear how these relate to each other and how they can be used strategically. A Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development (FSSD) is being developed to cover this need for clarity and structure. READ MORE
