1. Existence theorems for noncoercive incremental contact problems with Coulomb friction
Abstract : Friction is a phenomenon which is present in most mechanical devices and frequently encountered in everyday life. In particular, understanding of this phenomenon is important in the modelling of contact between an elastic object and an obstacle. READ MORE

2. Existence results for noncoercive incremental contact problems with Coulomb friction
Abstract : Friction is a phenomenon which is present in most mechanical devices and frequently encountered in everyday life. Noncoercive incremental contact problems with Coulomb friction constitute an important class of friction problems due to their frequent occurrence in mechanical engineering. READ MORE

3. Modelling of compaction of metal powder and damage accum ulation due to fatigue in powder materials
Abstract : This thesis addresses powder manufactured (P/M) components, with special attention to the compaction process and to the sensitivity to damage accumulation due to fatigue within powder compacted specimens. Three dimensional simulations of the compaction process have been performed, using an explicit dynamic dilatant finite strain finite element code supplemented with the effects from contact friction within the die, modelled by Coulomb friction. 4. On Rolling Variators, A study of power transmitting rolling variators when changing speed ratio
Abstract : The introduction of the concept Rolling Variators is proposed for rolling contact continuously variable transmission.A theoretical study of rolling variators when changing the speed ratio during power transmission is presented. READ MORE

5. Nonlinear Numerical Simulations of Interactions Between Ice Rubble and Structure
Abstract : This research is focused on three distinct but interconnecting topics:1) investigation of physical and mechanical properties of ice rubble, 2) material modelling of ice rubble, 3) numerical simulation of the interaction between ice rubble structure interaction. large scatter in the values of physical and mechanical properties of ice rubble can be seen in the literature due to non-standardised methods.
