  1. 1. Atmospheric DMS in the High Arctic

    Author : Jenny Lundén; Gunilla Svensson; Caroline Leck; Leonor Tarrason; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DMS; Modelling; Arctic; Meteorology; Meteorologi; meteorologi; Meteorology;

    Abstract : During the Arctic summer when the anthropogenic influence is limited, the natural marine source of sulfur in the form of gas-phase dimethyl sulfide viz. DMS(g), is of great importance for cloud formation. READ MORE

  2. 2. Magneto-optical studies of dilute nitrides and II-VI diluted magnetic semiconductor quantum structures

    Author : Daniel Dagnelund; Irina Buyanova; Weimin Chen; Marek Godlewski; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dilute nitrides; DMS; defect; ODMR; optically detected magnetic resonance; spin injection; PLE; photoluminescence excitation; post-growth hydrogenation; heterojunction; Semiconductor physics; Halvledarfysik;

    Abstract : This thesis work aims at a better understanding of magneto-optical properties of dilute nitrides and II-VI diluted magnetic semiconductor quantum structures. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part gives an introduction of the research fields, together with a brief summary of the scientific results included in the thesis. READ MORE

  3. 3. New applications and developments of field-asymmetric ion mobility spectrometry - mass spectrometry (FAIMS-MS)

    Author : Axel Mie; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; triazine; enantiomer; ion focusing; ion mobility; FAIMS; DMS; axial ion inlet;

    Abstract : Field asymmetric ion mobility spectrometry (FAIMS), also commonly termed differential mobility spectrometry (DMS), is a gas-phase ion separation technology. FAIMS exploits differences in high-electric-field to low-electric-field ion mobility ratios to discriminate between ion species. READ MORE

  4. 4. Tailored Properties of Ferromagnetic Thin Films

    Author : Peter Warnicke; Peter Svedlindh; Peter Grünberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; micromagnetics; domain wall; vortex; pinning potential; nanowire; spin dynamics; spin transfer torque; magnetic anisotropy; MFM; Permalloy; PMA; magnetic multilayer; Curie temperature; DMS; GaMnAs; magnetic bioseparation; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Abstract : Magnetic thin films and patterned nanostructures have been studied with respect to their magnetic properties using SQUID-magnetometry, magnetic force microscopy, electrical measurements, and micromagnetic calculations. Properties of vortex domain walls, trapped in Permalloy nanowires with artificial constrictions, were investigated experimentally and by numerical calculations. READ MORE

  5. 5. Chemical perspectives on aerosol-cloud interactions in the High Arctic

    Author : Karolina Siegel; Claudia Mohr; Annica M. L. Ekman; Ilona Riipinen; Ryan Sullivan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Aerosol chemical composition; DMS oxidation; FIGAERO-CIMS; κ-Köhler theory; High Arctic; Atmospheric Sciences and Oceanography; atmosfärvetenskap och oceanografi;

    Abstract : Atmospheric aerosol particles have important yet highly uncertain impacts on the Earth’s climate, with the largest uncertainties residing in the interactions between aerosols and clouds. The extent to which aerosols act as cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) depends on the chemical composition and size of the particles. READ MORE
