2. Dopamine receptors in the rat brain
Abstract : Dopamine receptors belong to a large superfamily of G protein-coupled receptors and consist of the D1, D2, D3, D4, and D5 receptors. The D2, D3, and D4 receptors belong to the D2 receptor family which is characterized by having a large third cytoplasmic loop and a short C-terminus projecting into the cytosol, and by inhibiting the enzyme adenylyl cyclase. 3. Mathematical Models in Cellular Biophysics
Abstract : Cellular biophysics deals with, among other things, transport processes within cells. This thesis presents two studies where mathematical models have been used to explain how two of these processes occur. Cellular membranes separate cells from their exterior environment and also divide a cell into several subcellular regions. READ MORE

4. The Role of Dopamine-Metabolising Enzymes in Renal Sodium Handling. An Experimental Study in vivo
Abstract : Dopamine (DA) has been shown to act as an intrarenal natriuretic hormone and defects in the renal DA system have been associated with some forms of hypertension. How the DA activity is upregulated durin- increased sodium intake is, however, unknown. READ MORE

5. The architecture of the aging brain : functional reorganization, structural changes, and the role of dopamine receptors
Abstract : Aging is associated with reorganization of functional brain architecture, potentially leading tocognitive decline in older age. However, the mechanisms responsible for alterations in functionalbrain architecture remain poorly understood. READ MORE
