1. Digital Phase Locked Loops for Radio Frequency Synthesis
Abstract : The demands for an ever higher data rate and a more varied functionality at minimal cost and power consumption have been the driving force behind most innovations in wireless communication systems. Intensive efforts have been made to develop Radio Frequency (RF) Integrated Circuits (ICs) and systems using low-cost Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) processes. READ MORE

2. Synchronous Reluctance Machine (SynRM) in Variable Speed Drives (VSD) Applications
Abstract : This thesis is comprehensively dedicated to the theoretical and experimental reevaluation of the Synchronous Reluctance Machine (SynRM). A simple approach to derive the SynRM main characteristics and behavior is followed. An introduction to an evaluation of the different control strategies in is given. READ MORE

3. Incidence and prognosis of differentiated thyroid cancer in Sweden
Abstract : Non-medullary differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) is a rare disorder but, nevertheless, among the most common cancers in individuals below 40 years of age. DTC consists of papillary (PTC) and follicular (FTC) thyroid cancer. The prognosis is excellent with an overall 10-year survival of 90 %. READ MORE

4. Cardiovascular disease and health anxiety in patients with differentiated thyroid cancer
Abstract : Background Differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) accounts for over 90% of all thyroid malignancies, and is typically treated with a total thyroidectomy and radioactive iodine (RAI) to eliminate both macro- and microscopic cancer tissue. After these procedures, patients require levothyroxine to substitute for loss of thyroid hormones. READ MORE

5. Analysis of Losses in Inverter-fed Synchronous Machines with Salient-pole Solid Rotors
Abstract : The work that is presented here considers loss analysis of inverter-fed field-excited synchronous machines. The project was initiated, as a co-operation between industrial partners and KTH, with the aim of providing knowledge about the losses that take place in inverter-fed large scale synchronous machines.
