  1. 1. Segmentation and Visualisation of Human Brain Structures

    Author : Roger Hult; Ewert Bengtsson; Lennart Thurfjell; Håkan Hall; Ingrid Agartz; Arvid Lundervold; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bildanalys; segmentation; visualisation; brain; cortex; hippocampus; autoradiography; MRI; PET; ROI; Bildanalys; Image analysis; Bildanalys; Computerized Image Analysis; datoriserad bildanalys;

    Abstract : In this thesis the focus is mainly on the development of segmentation techniques for human brain structures and of the visualisation of such structures. The images of the brain are both anatomical images (magnet resonance imaging (MRI) and autoradigraphy) and functional images that show blood flow (functional magnetic imaging (fMRI), positron emission tomography (PET), and single photon emission tomograpy (SPECT)). 2. 2. Development of Algorithms for Digital Image Cytometry

    Author : Joakim Lindblad; Calum MacAulay; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bildanalys; Bildanalys; Image analysis; Bildanalys; Datoriserad bildanalys; Computerized Image Analysis;

    Abstract : This thesis presents work in digital image cytometry applied to fluorescence microscope images of cultivated cells. Focus has been on the development and compilation of robust image analysis tools, enabling quantitative measurements of various properties of cells and cell structures. READ MORE

  3. 3. Atlas-Based Fusion of Medical Brain Images : Methods and Applications

    Author : Roger Lundqvist; Hans Knutsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bildanalys; Bildanalys; Image analysis; Bildanalys; Computerized Image Analysis; datoriserad bildanalys;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on the development of methods for fusion of information from medical brain scans. The concept of medical image fusion refers to the process of extracting and utilising information from several scans simultaneously in the analysis and diagnosis of patients. READ MORE

  4. 4. Environmental Applications of Aquatic Remote Sensing

    Author : Petra Philipson née Ammenberg; Eugenio Zilioli; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bildanalys; Bildanalys; Image analysis; Bildanalys; Computerized Image Analysis; datoriserad bildanalys;

    Abstract : Many lakes, coastal zones and oceans are directly or indirectly influenced by human activities. Through the outlet of a vast amount of substances in the air and water, we are changing the natural conditions on local and global levels. READ MORE
