  1. 1. Experimental Study of some Potassium and Sodium Bearing Aluminosilicates at High Temperatures and High Pressures

    Author : Faramarz Tutti; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; Phlogopite; Orthoclase; Jadeite; Albite; Calcium ferrite; Hollandite; Dehydroxylation; High temperature; High pressure; Lower mantle; Geochemistry; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Abstract : This dissertation presents the results of a high-temperature and high-pressure experimental study of some abundant aluminositicates, which are the main repositories for the two geochemically important elements, sodium and potassium, in the Earth's crust. Phase transitions of end member alkali feldspars and jadeite clinopyroxene are studied at high and ultrahigh pressures corresponding to the conditions between the transition zone and the deep Earth's lower mantle.     Keywords : Intestinal ecosystem; Intestinal microflora; Germ-free life; MACs; Establishment; TPN; EN; Probiotics; Lactobacillus delbrueckii; Streptococcus thermophilus; Faecal enema;

    Abstract : An intestinal ecosystem has three major actors, i.e., the macroorganism, the microflora and the environment. READ MORE

  3. 3. The interplay between bile acids and gut microbiota in metabolic and hepatobiliary disease

    Author : Wilhelm Sjöland; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; gut microbiota; bile acids; type 2 diabetes; hepatobiliary disease; obesity; metabolic disease;

    Abstract : The gut microbiota, a metabolic regulator, orchestrates the production of bioactive metabolites such as secondary bile acids. Growing evidence suggests that shifts in the gut microbiota composition are linked to metabolic and hepatobiliary disease. READ MORE

  4. 4. Zeolite ZSM5 catalysts for abatement of nitrogen oxide

    Author : Bager Ganemi; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Airborne pollutants from the combustion of fossil fuels area global problem. Emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx) is increasing with the worldwide increase in theuse of energy. Atmospheric and photochemical reactions linknitrogen oxides to hydrocarbons and tropospheric ozone. READ MORE

  5. 5. Thin water and ice films on minerals : a molecular level study
