    Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis was to describe how patients with penile carcinoma experienced their symptoms, treatment seeking and the impact of the diagnosis and treatment on sexual function, sexual activity and life satisfaction. The thesis contains two studies of patients treated with organ-sparing laser therapy, a retrospective study (Papers II and III) of 46 patients treated between 1986-2000 and a prospective study (Papers I and IV) of 50 patients between 2005 and 2009 and additional 34 partners.     Abstract : This thesis investigated whether out­come after in-hospital cardiac arrest patients could be improved by a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) educational intervention focusing on all hospital healthcare professionals. Annually in Sweden, approximately 3000 in-hospital patients suffer a cardiac arrest in which CPR is attempted, and which 900 will survive. READ MORE

    Abstract : In this investigation colorectal cancer in the county of Östergötland has been studied with emphasis on risk factors, diagnostic efforts, and the results of treatment.In two case-control studies on food and colorectal cancer, a decreased risk was associated with a high intake of cereal fibre, total fibre, and calcium per unit energy consumed as well as a high intake of raw vegetables.
