1. Dispersion Coating for Active Food Packaging: Aroma Interactions and Oxygen Scavenging
Abstract : ABSTRACTActive packaging materials prolong the shelf life or preserve the quality of packed food by absorbing oxygen, ethylene, moisture or odours, or by releasing antimicrobial agents, antioxidants or flavours. In dispersion coating, a latex is applied onto paper or paperboard to form a barrier film against water, water vapour, oil or gases. READ MORE

2. Particle Coating in a Wurster Type Bed
Abstract : The Wurster bed process is frequently used for film coating. In the Wurster bed, particles circulate in the equipment and are sprayed with a liquid which forms a coating when dry. The procedure is repeated until the desired characteristics of the coating layer are obtained. READ MORE

4. Studies of electrically conductive textile coatings with PEDOT:PSS
Abstract : This study investigates electrically conductive coatings of textiles, obtained with a direct coating and the addition of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) dispersion to a thickened polyurethane (PU)-based formulation. Textiles with enhanced electrical conductivity have potential applications in antistatic, electrostatic discharge protective, electromagnetic interference shielding, sensoric and temperature-regulating products. 5. Structure-Performance Relations of Oxygen Barriers for Food Packaging
Abstract : Food packaging should ensure the safety and quality of food, minimize spoilage and provide an easy way of storing and handling it. Barrier coatings are generally used to meet the demands placed on fibre-based food packages, as these have the ability to regulate the amount of gases that can enter them. READ MORE
