  1. 1. Film Formation from Dispersions - Preparation and Mechanisms

    Author : Stefan Erkselius; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymerteknik; biopolymers; Polymer technology; decomposition; sodium persulfate; hyrdoxyethyl cellulose; salt; surfactants; drying; stabilization; latex; Film formation; dispersions;

    Abstract : Improved environmental consciousness and harsh legislation concerning volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during the 1980s led to an increase in the development in the field of polymer colloids. Solvent born coatings were replaced by polymer dispersions in aqueous solution, so called latex dispersions. READ MORE

  2. 2. Towards Institutional Stabilization and Development? : A Study of Inter-Organizational Cooperation in the Tajik Cotton Industry

    Author : Anna C. Spånning; Curt Räftegård; Susan Marton; Daniele Caramani; Bo Petersson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Cooperation; cotton industry; institutional stability and instability; Farmers’ Ownership Model project; inter-organizational collective activities; Tajikistan.; Political science; Statsvetenskap; Political Science; Statsvetenskap;

    Abstract : Close to two decades after the break-up of the Soviet Union, there is still a marked difference in developmental paths, including institutional as well as economic development and performance among the states emerging from the ruins of the vast empire. Turning attention to the least successful post-Soviet region, Central Asia, and Tajikistan in particular, this thesis provides a contribution to the discussion of how to institutionalize social power and build the foundations for political community in post-colonial societies. 3. 3. AFPM Motor/Generator Flywheel for Electric Power Stabilization

    Author : Juan de Santiago Ochoa; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The study of a motor/generator for flywheel energy storage, meant to smooth the power transients in a vehicular power train, is expounded in this licentiate thesis. The proposed motor/generator has two sets of windings in the stator, rated at different power and voltage levels, and a significant moment of inertia to store energy in the form of rotational kinetic energy. Abstract : The growing development of nanotechnology has resulted in an increased use of nanoparticles (NPs) in various applications ranging from medicine, military, to daily consumer products. There is a concern that NPs can be dispersed into the environment in various ways, for example to air and water during manufacture, use, incineration or recycling of products and thus pose a risk to health and the environment.
