1. New Reactions with Allyl- and Allenylboron Reagents : Transition-Metal-Catalyzed and Transition-Metal-Free Carbon-Carbon Bond Formation Processes
Abstract : Organoboron compounds have been widely used in carbon-carbon bond formation reactions in organic synthesis and catalysis. This thesis is focused on cross-coupling reactions of allyl-, allenylboronic acids and their ester derivatives via transition metal catalysis or transition-metal-free processes. READ MORE

2. How can data science contribute to a greener world? : an exploration featuring machine learning and data mining for environmental facilities and energy end users
Abstract : Human society has taken many measures to address environmental issues. For example, deploying wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) to alleviate water pollution and the shortage of usable water; using waste-to-energy (WtE) plants to recover energy from the waste and reduce its environmental impact. 3. Quantum Wavepacket Dynamics in Molecular and Trapped Ion Systems
Abstract : The motions of a wavepacket in the two coupled potentials studied in this thesis can be classified into either bistable or astable motion according to the wavepacket interference at the curve crossing. Bistable motion, in which the wavepacket performs a coupled oscillation but remains in the same adiabatic and diabatic state, can exist both in bound-bound systems and bound-unbound ones with long time stability. 4. Endothelin and nitric oxide in coronary vascular regulation with special reference to myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury
Abstract : The vascular endothelium plays an important role in the regulation of cardiovascular function by producing bioactive substances such as nitric oxide (NO) and endothelin-I (ET- 1). Recent evidence has revealed that endothelial dysfunction is closely related to myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury. READ MORE

5. Lifetime modeling and management of transformers
Abstract : This work have studied and developed lifetime estimation methods for the power transformer and how these could be used for asset management purposes. It is researchperformed in the intersection of the fields of reliability theory, statistical analysis, and stochastic process theory applied to lifetime estimations and management of transformers.
