1. Alcohol Flexible Dual-Fuel Direct Injection Engine
Abstract : Laws concerning emissions from HD internal combustion engines are becoming increasingly stringent in terms of local emissions and emissions concerning global warming such as lowering tailpipe CO2. New engine technologies are needed to satisfy these new requirements and to reduce fossil fuel dependency and increase renewable fuels in the transportation sector. READ MORE

2. Experimental Investigations on Natural Gas-Diesel Dual Fuel Combustion
Abstract : Natural gas has been traditionally applied in spark-ignited combustion engines due to similar combustion characteristics for methane gas and gasoline. However, spark ignition requires a low compression ratio to avoid knock problems and therefore, gas engines have lower efficiency than diesel engines. READ MORE

3. Large eddy simulation of dual-fuel combustion under ICE conditions
Abstract : The present thesis aims at studying n-heptane/methanol dual-fuel combustion under internal combustion engine conditions and strives to improve the understanding of its ignition, combustion, and pollutant emission mechanisms. Large-eddy simulation (LES) coupled with Eulerian stochastic fields (ESF) approach is employed to simulate single/dual-fuel combustion in a constant-volume vessel to mimic the single/dual-fuel combustion in conventional/dual-fuel premixed engines. 4. Advancing the Limits of Dual Fuel Combustion
Abstract : There is a growing interest in alternative transport fuels. There are two underlying reasons for this interest; the desire to decrease the environmental impact of transports and the need to compensate for the declining availability of petroleum. In the light of both these factors the Diesel Dual Fuel, DDF, engine is an attractive concept. READ MORE

5. Methanol Diesel Dual Fuel Direct Injection in a HD-CI Engine
Abstract : Laws concerning emissions from heavy duty (HD) internal combustion engines are becoming increasingly stringent. New engine technologies are needed to satisfy these new requirements and to reduce fossil fuel dependency. READ MORE
