  1. 1. Dynamic Abstraction for Interleaved Task Planning and Execution

    Author : Per Nyblom; Patrick Doherty; Lars Karlsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Artificial Intelligence; Dynamic Abstraction; Task Planning; Automatic Model Construction; Meta-modelling; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : It is often beneficial for an autonomous agent that operates in a complex environment to make use of different types of mathematical models to keep track of unobservable parts of the world or to perform prediction, planning and other types of reasoning. Since a model is always a simplification of something else, there always exists a tradeoff between the model’s accuracy and feasibility when it is used within a certain application due to the limited available computational resources. 2. 2. Knowledge elicitation as abstraction of purposive behaviour

    Author : Anton Axelsson; Anders Arweström Jansson; Mats Lind; Annika Wallin; John Flach; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; knowledge elicitation; expertise; context; human factors; Computer Science with specialization in Human-Computer Interaction; Datavetenskap med inriktning mot människa-datorinteraktion;

    Abstract : Researchers use knowledge elicitation methods to document expert knowledge for the primary purpose of understanding cognitive processes and with this understanding, technical solutions to resolve human factors issues can be produced. This dissertation offers a novel perspective on knowledge elicitation as an abstraction process. READ MORE

  3. 3. Symbolic modelling of the dynamic environments of autonomous agents

    Author : Per Österling; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : To interact with a dynamic environment in a reliable and predictable manner, an autonomous agent must be able to continuously sense and “understand” the environment in which it is operating, while also meeting strict temporal constraints.In this thesis we present means to support this activity within a unified framework aimed to facilitate autonomous agent design and implementation. 4. 4. On Modeling and Diagnosis of Discrete Event Dynamic Systems

    Author : Magnus Larsson; Lennart Ljung; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The basic motivation for this thesis is the fact that things go wrong. With the growing complexity of todays engineering systems, the need has arisen for systematic approaches to failure diagnosis. In this thesis an approach for modeling and diagnosis of systems that fall in the area of discrete event dynamic systems is proposed. READ MORE

  5. 5. Techniques for implementing embedded domain specific languages in dynamic languages

    Author : Calle Lejdfors; Institutionen för datavetenskap; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Computer programming should be expressing the complicated in easily understandable parts. General languages provide tools and abstractions that allow many different problems to be formulated and solved. READ MORE
