  1. 1. Development of a new service-oriented modelling method for information systems analysis and design

    Author : Prima Gustiené; Anders G Nilsson; Sten Carlsson; William Wei Song; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Information systems analysis and design; conceptual modeling; service orientation; semantic integrity; static and dynamic aspects; goal modeling.; Informatics; Informatik; Information Systems; Informatik;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a new modelling method for information systems analysis and design, where the concept of service and the principles of service orientation are used for integrated modelling and reasoning about information systems architectures across organisational and technical systems boundaries. The concept of service enables cohesion of the intersubjective and objective modelling traditions by using a single type of diagram that facilitates detection of semantic inconsistency, incompleteness, ambiguity and discontinuity between the static and dynamic aspects of information systems specifications. 2. 2. On the control of virtual violins : Physical modelling and control of bowed string instruments

    Author : Matthias Demoucron; Anders Askenfelt; Rene Causse; Benoit Fabre; Marcelo Wanderley; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bowed string; physical modelling; sound synthesis; performance control; violin playing; Corde frottée; modélisation physique; synthèse sonore; contrôle gestuel; violon; Struken sträng; fysikalisk modellering; ljudsyntes; musikutförande; violinspel; Other physics; Övrig fysik; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Acoustics; Akustik;

    Abstract :   This thesis treats the control of sound synthesis of bowed string instruments based on physical modelling. The work followed two approaches: (a) a systematic exploration of the influence of control parameters (bow force, bow velocity, and bow-bridge distance) on the output of a physical model of the violin, and (b) measurements and analyses of the bowing parameters in real violin playing in order to model and parameterize basic classes of bowing patterns for synthesis control. 3. 3. Digester modelling for diagnostics and control

    Author : Johan Jansson; Erik Dahlquist; Thore Berntsson; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; pulp production; diagnostics; simulation; control; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis will show the possibility for the development and use of an on-line model for application to continuous digesters for pulp production. The model is developed by using a program called Dymola (Dynamic Modeling Laboratory). What makes the Dymola software so well suited is that the program solves equations simultaneously. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development and evaluation of methods for control and modelling of multiple-input multiple-output systems

    Author : Fredrik Bengtsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Input-output scaling; Modeling; Fiber length; Tensile Index; Hold-input; Decentralized control; Gramian based measures; Delays; LQG control; TMP; Uncertain data sets; Unreliable communication links; MIMO systems; Control configuration selection; Linear regression; Freeness; Shives; CTMP;

    Abstract : In control, a common type of system is the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, where the same input may affect multiple outputs, or conversely, the same output is affected by multiple inputs. In this thesis two methods for controlling MIMO systems are examined, namely linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control and decentralized control, and some of the difficulties associated with them. 5. 5. Distributed control of interconnected systems and its application in traffic control

    Author : Azita Dabiri; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Linear Matrix Inequality; Distributed control; Traffic flow modelling and control; Input saturation;

    Abstract : Over the past few decades, the need for mobility and road transportation has been significantly increased over the world. This turned as a dilemma in many metropolitan areas as traffic congestion costs energy and takes time of all individuals who live in big cities. READ MORE
