  1. 1. Monotonic and Cyclic Plastic Deformation of High-Strength Aluminium Alloys

    Author : Magnus Hörnqvist Colliander; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strain rate effects; Heat treatment; Dynamic strain ageing; Precipitation hardening; Low cycle fatigue; AA7030; Plastic deformation; Temperature effects; EN AW-7030; Al-Zn-Mg; Strain hardening; Mechanical properties; Dynamic precipitation.;

    Abstract : Dynamic strain ageing (DSA) and dynamic precipitation (DP) are two, closely interrelated, phenomena arising from the dynamic interaction between mobile solute atoms and dislocations. The occurrence of DSA and DP is confined to specific ranges of strain rate and temperature, and aluminium alloys are generally prone to experience DSA and DP already at ambient temperatures and conventional strainrates. 2. 2. Understanding Weather effects on, in, and from large Herbivore Population Dynamics

    Author : Lena Månsson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; monitoring; management; data collection; Ecology; Ekologi; indirect effects; vegetation; modeling; time series analysis; precipitation; weather; population dynamics; Large herbivores;

    Abstract : Large herbivores are monitored for various reasons in many areas around the world. Data from such monitoring can be of varying degree of detail and extent. Several studies have shown that we need extensive amounts of data with a high degree of detail to be able to understand anything from it. READ MORE

  3. 3. Entering the dynamic risk space : Assessing planetary boundary interactions through process-based quantifications

    Author : Arne Tobian; Johan Rockström; Sarah Cornell; Ingo Fetzer; Dieter Gerten; Martin Volk; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Planetary boundaries; climate change; land-use change; Earth system interactions; ecosystem modeling; green water; vetenskap om hållbar utveckling; Sustainability Science;

    Abstract : The planetary boundaries framework is an effort to define a safe operating space for humanity. Its rationale is that sustainable development needs to be achieved in ways that safeguard the stability of the Earth system on which human prosperity relies. READ MORE

  4. 4. Hydrological Modeling for Climate Change Impact Assessment : Transferring Large-Scale Information from Global Climate Models to the Catchment Scale

    Author : Claudia Teutschbein; Jan Seibert; Chris Kilsby; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bias Correction; Climate Change; Climate Models; Ensembles; GCM; HBV; Hydrological Modeling; Precipitation; RCM; Split Sample Test; Streamflow; Sweden; Temperature; Uncertainty; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Abstract : A changing climate can severely perturb regional hydrology and thereby affect human societies and life in general. To assess and simulate such potential hydrological climate change impacts, hydrological models require reliable meteorological variables for current and future climate conditions. READ MORE

  5. 5. Polyelectrolytes and Polycomplexes in Biotechnology

    Author : Maria Dainiak; Bioteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; expanded bed adsorption.; affinity precipitation; Fab fragments; monoclonal antibodies; glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase; misfolded protein; chaperone; poly N-ethyl-4-vinylpyridinium bromide ; poly methacrylic acid ; poly acrylic acid ; Key words: polyelectrolyte; polyelectrolyte complexes; Biotechnology; Bioteknik; Chemical technology and engineering; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi;

    Abstract : Polyelectrolytes and polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs) are characterized by many useful properties that endow them with high potential in different areas of biotechnology. This thesis describes the development and analyses of some new systems and methods utilizing poly(acrylic acid) (PAA), poly(methacrylic acid) (PMA), poly (N-ethyl-4-vinylpyridinium bromide) (PEVP) and PMA-PEVP complexes.
