  1. 1. Cardiovaskular risk factors and complications in type 1 and type 2 diabetes

    University dissertation from Göteborg : University of Gothenburg

    Author : Katarina Eeg-Olofsson; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2010]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Diabetes; Cardiovascular diseases; Epidemiology;

    Abstract : Patients with diabetes have increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and mortality compared to the general population. The aim of this work was to describe the clinical characteristics and risk factors in patients with type 1 diabetes, and also to investigate the association between glycaemic control and CVD in type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and to analyse the association between BMI, overweight and obesity, and CVD in type 2 diabetes. 2. 2. Transmission of bone conducted sound in the human skull based on vibration and perceptual measures

    University dissertation from Göteborg : University of Gothenburg

    Author : Måns Eeg-Olofsson; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2012]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Bone conducted sound; Cochlear vibration; Hearing perception; Bone conduction implant;

    Abstract : For patients who are rehabilitated with bone conduction (BC) hearing aids, the position on the skull of the hearing aid is critical for the perception of the sound. The aim of this work was to describe the vibration of the cochlea from BC sound stimulation at different positions on the skull. READ MORE

  4. 4. From Motion to Movements Revelations by the Infant EEG

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Pär Nyström; Uppsala universitet.; [2008]
    Keywords : Psychology; infant; brain; EEG; mirror neurons; ERP; ICA; MNS; Psykologi;

    Abstract : The introduction of high density EEG (hd-EEG) nets for easy application on subjects of all ages has improved the possibilities to investigate the development of the infant neurophysiology. This dissertation consists of three studies (I – III) that investigate the visual motion system and mirror neuron system of the infant, and methodological sections that outline the bioelectrical background and the characteristics of the methods used. 5. 5. The EEG of the Newborn Brain - Detection of Hypoxia and Prediction of Outcome

    University dissertation from Chalmers University of Technology

    Author : Nils Löfgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola.; Chalmers University of Technology.; [2005]

    Abstract : Brain function requires a continuous flow of oxygen and an insufficient supply (hypoxia) for a few minutes during the first period of life may have severe consequences; consequences which might impact both the life of the individual who has been struck and his or her family. Therefore, there is a need to find a method which can enable the detection of an insufficient oxygen supply at an early stage, before brain damage becomes permanent. READ MORE
