  1. 1. Enteric adenovirus type 41 : genome organization and specific detection procedures

    Author : Annika Allard; Göran Wadell; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; EAd Ad41 EIA E1B detection PCR;

    Abstract : Enteric adenoviruses (EAd) types 40 and 41 (Ad40 and Ad41) representing subgenus F, are primary pathogens of children being second only to rotaviruses as the most important cause of infantile diarrhea.The EAds differ from all other adenoviruses in their inability to grow in most conventional established cell lines and have been suggested to be deficient in some early gene functions since they could be complemented by Ad 5 early regions EIA and E1B. 2. 2. Cross transfer effects after unilateral muscle overuse : an experimental animal study about alterations in the morphology and the tachykinin system of muscles

    Author : Yafeng Song; Per Stål; Sture Forsgren; Fawzi Kadi; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Triceps surae; overuse; contralateral; muscle; muscle fiber; MyHC; capillary; tachykinin; substance P; NK-1R; inflammation; anatomi; Human Anatomy;

    Abstract : Unilateral exercise can produce certain contralateral strength effects. Deleterious events can be cross-transferred as well, as illustrated by a strict symmetry in some chronic inflammatory diseases. READ MORE

  3. 3. Studies of immune responses to cell surface proteins of Helicobacter pylori and Borrelia burgdorferi by enzyme immunoassay and immunoblotting

    Author : Ingrid Nilsson; Avdelningen för medicinsk mikrobiologi; []

    Abstract : Helicobacter pylori and Borrelia burgdorferi s.l. can cause chronic infections by evading the immune system. These two human pathogens express a number of immunogenic cell surface proteins. READ MORE

  4. 4. Polyomavirus infections in humans

    Author : Annika Lundstig; Malmö Klinisk mikrobiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Polyomaviruses; tumour virology; BK virus; neuroblastoma; maternal infection; Real Time PCR; enzyme immunoassay; seroprevalence; JC virus; SV40; virus like particles VLPs ; seroepidemiology; biobank; mesothelioma tissues; Microbiology; bacteriology; virology; mycology; Mikrobiologi; bakteriologi; virologi; mykologi;

    Abstract : The human polyomaviruses BKV and JCV are endemic and infect > 70% of population worldwide. Primary infections occur during childhood and are largely subclinical. Following primary infection, both viruses persist as latent infections in the kidneys and B lymphocytes. READ MORE

  5. 5. Monitoring as an instrument for improving environmental performance in public authorities : Experience from Swedish Infrastructure Management
