1. Experiments and simulations of lean methane combustion
Abstract : Computational fluid dynamics of methane combustion using chemical kinetics for description of the chemistry is studied. Linear least squares data fit to measured concentrations and temperatures is used to modify reaction rate parameters in the Arrhenius rate equation for combustion of methane. READ MORE

2. Balancing Building Conservation with Energy Conservation - Towards differentiated energy renovation strategies in historic building stocks
Abstract : Balancing building conservation with energy conservation is challenging. The overall aim of this thesis is to bridge the perceived conflict of reaching climate and energy goals on the one hand and the goals of a sustainable management of historic building stocks on the other hand. 3. Microclimate modelling for agrivoltaic systems
Abstract : Increasing global electricity consumption and population growth have resulted in conflicts between renewable energy sources, such as bioenergy and ground-mounted photovoltaic systems, owing to the limited availability of suitable land caused by competing land uses. This challenge is further compounded by the intertwined relationship between energy and agri-food systems, where approximately 30% of global energy is consumed. READ MORE

4. Indirect gasification production of biomethane for use in heavy-duty state-of-the-art gas engines
Abstract : The climate targets set for the European transport sector have stimulated intensiveresearch by groups in academia, the energy industry, and vehicle manufacturing in theGothenburg region into biomethane production via indirect gasification of lignocellulosebiomass and the development of advanced gas engine technologies. This work presents the results of a comprehensive study of biomethane production andutilization in heavy duty engines. 5. Wind-wave interaction effects on offshore wind energy
Abstract : This thesis is devoted to the investigation of the impacts of fast moving ocean surface waves on the aerodynamics of offshore wind turbines. The impacts of non-locally generated waves (swell) on the Marine Atmospheric BoundaryLayer (MABL) and thereby on offshore wind turbine aerodynamics are studied numerically by using Large Eddy Simulations and the Actuator Line Method.
