1. Electronic Labyrinths : An Archaeology of Videographic Cinema
Abstract : This study scans six decades of film history in search for video images, the imaginaries within which they are framed, and (taking cues from the archaeological methods of Friedrich Kittler and Michel Foucault) their technical, historical, and institutional conditions of existence. The British experimental science fiction film Anti-Clock (Jane Arden and Jack Bond, 1979) revolves around a video device with the capacity to confront subjects with their own repressed memory images. 2. Electronic Properties of Diamond
Abstract : Diamond is a semiconductor with many superior material properties such as high breakdown field, high saturation velocity, high carrier mobilities and the highest thermal conductivity of all materials. These extreme properties compared to other (wide bandgap) semiconductors make it desirable to develop single-crystalline epitaxial diamond films for many electronic device and detector applications. 3. Cooperative Spectrum Sharing and Device-to-Device Communications
Abstract : The steep growth in the mobile data traffic has gained a lot of attention in recent years. This growth is mainly the result of emerging applications, multimedia services, and revolutions in the device technology. With current deployments and radio resources, operators will not be able to cope with the growing demands. READ MORE

4. Microwave power device characterization
Abstract : The first part of the thesis covers work done on device characterizationmethods. A statistical method for estimating small-signal model parametersin FET-models was proposed. A maximum likelihood estimator wasderived and the new method was compared to a standard direct extractiontechnique. READ MORE

5. Ultrahigh-Voltage Silicon Carbide Device Performance, Requirements, and Limitations in High-Power Applications
Abstract : The increased awareness of the on-going climate change accelerates the electric energy system transformation from fossil-fueled power sources towards systems with larger portions of renewable energy sources. Moreover, the grid infrastructure requires reinforcements to cope with increasing electrical energy demand. READ MORE
