  1. 1. Urban Building Energy Modeling for Retrofit Scenarios : Development, Calibration, Validation and Implementation for Swedish Residential Buildings

    Author : Fatemeh Johari; Joakim Widén; Darren Robinson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Urban building energy modeling; Urban building energy retrofit; Urban energy system; Urban energy planning; Energy performance certificate; Energy efficiency; low-energy cities; Engineering Science with specialization in Civil Engineering and Built Environment; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot byggteknik och byggd miljö;

    Abstract : The necessity for an accelerated transition of urban energy systems and, in particular, the building sector toward energy efficiency and carbon neutrality poses new challenges to planning and retrofitting existing buildings. To cope with these challenges, so-called urban building energy models (UBEMs) have been introduced for quantifying the energy demand in the building sector, identifying the hot spots of energy use and suggesting scenarios for retrofitting the buildings. Abstract : Decarbonisation of the building stock is essential for energy transitions towards climate-neutral cities in Sweden, Europe and globally. Meeting 1. READ MORE

  3. 3. Challenges of renovating the Gothenburg multi-family building stock - An analysis of comprehensive building-specific information, including energy performance, ownership and affordability

    Author : Mikael Mangold; Seppo Junnila; Sweden Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Aging building stock; Energy performance certificate; Energy retrofitting; Equity; GIS; Göteborg; Measured energy usage; Multi-family dwellings; Social sustainability; Tenure;

    Abstract : In Sweden and many European countries, the building stock increased at a rapid pace during the period of 1950-1975. This aging building stock is in need of renovation which is a challenge and an opportunity in reaching the energy performance targets as well as decreasing societal inequities. READ MORE

  4. 4. Spatial analysis of urban housing stocks

    Author : Magnus Österbring; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy performance certificate; Building-stock modelling; GIS; renovation; refurbishment; Energy; Multi-family buildings;

    Abstract : Urban building-stocks must be transformed in order to reduce energy and resource use to achieve climate change mitigation targets. As the rate of renewal in the building-stock is low, energy efficiency measures need to be applied when renovation is being done. READ MORE

  5. 5. A comprehensive approach to building-stock modelling - Assessing the impact of renovating urban housing stocks

    Author : Magnus Österbring; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy performance certificate; costeffectiveness; GIS; LCA; building valuation; renovation; refurbishment; Building-stock modelling; multi-family buildings; energy;

    Abstract : The existing building stock provide a possibility for cost-efficient energy efficiency measures and related reductions in greenhouse-gas emissions. As the rate of renewal in the buildingstock is low, energy efficiency measures need to be applied when renovation is being done in order to reach climate goals. READ MORE
