  1. 1. Towards active engine mounting systems for commercial vehicles: modeling and analysis

    Author : Hoda Yarmohamadi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nonlinear dynamic stiffness and damping; Actuators; Computational model; Conventional engine mount; Vibration isolation; Adaptronic mounting system; Model errors tolerance; Commercial vehicles;

    Abstract : The vehicle engine mounting system, which consists of several mounts connecting the engine to the vehicle structure, not only supports the weight of the engine but also isolates the noise, vibration and the transmitted forces to the vehicle structure. At present conventional elastomeric mounts are widely used in engine mounting systems for commercial vehicles. READ MORE

  2. 2. Crankshaft speed measurements and analysis for control and diagnostics of diesel engines

    Author : Roger Johnsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknisk akustik; Engineering Acoustics;

    Abstract : The increasing demands from governments on the engine manufactures to lower the fuel consumption, lower the exhaust emissions and to reduce the noise have lead to an intensive research in the combustion process. Measurement of the combustion process inside the cylinder is only suitable in laboratory environment due to a number of limitations; the pressure transducer needed to measure the pressure is expensive, difficult to mount in the cylinder and has a limited lifetime that is much shorter than the engine's lifetime. 3. 3. Indirect measurements for control and diagnostics of IC engines

    Author : Roger Johansson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknisk akustik; Engineering Acoustics;

    Abstract : The combustion process in internal combustion engines determines engine power, fuel consumption, exhaust emissions and combustion noise. Measurement and analysis of in-cylinder pressure plays an important role in the improvement and optimization of engine performance. READ MORE
