  1. 1. Boundary integral methods for Stokes flow : Quadrature techniques and fast Ewald methods

    Author : Oana Marin; Anna-Karin Tornberg; Anita Layton; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; boundary integral; Stokes flow; quadrature rule; Ewald decomposition;

    Abstract : Fluid phenomena dominated by viscous effects can, in many cases, be modeled by the Stokes equations. The boundary integral form of the Stokes equations reduces the number of degrees of freedom in a numerical discretization by reformulating the three-dimensional problem to two-dimensional integral equations to be discretized over the boundaries of the domain. 2. 2. Algorithms for Molecular Dynamics Simulations

    Author : Fredrik Hedman; Aatto Laaksonen; Tom Darden; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; molecular dynamics; MD; first principles molecular dynamics; quantum mechanics; liquid water; parallel algorithm; data parallel; MPI; Coulombic interaction; Ewald summation; nonuniform fast Fourier transform; FFT; FFTW; NFFT; ENUF; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : Methods for performing large-scale parallel Molecular Dynamics(MD) simulations are investigated. A perspective on the field of parallel MD simulations is given. Hardware and software aspects are characterized and the interplay between the two is briefly discussed. READ MORE

  3. 3. Moment Method Analysis of Antennas in Reverberation Chambers and Cylindrical Structures

    Author : Ulf Carlberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cavity; spectral domain method; cylindrical structure; Ewald summation; Green s function; absorption cross section; moment method; reverberation chamber; antenna;

    Abstract : This thesis is a collection of papers using the method of moments for numerical analysis. The papers can be divided into two main groups; a study of antennas in reverberationchambers, and a study of antennas in cylindrical structures.The reverberation chamber is a metal cavity for measuring antennas and other devices. 5. 5. Interfacial behaviours of ionic fluids : Theory and simulations

    Author : Samuel Stenberg; Beräkningskemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ionic fluids; Monte carlo; Ewald summation; Thermodynamics; Electrical double layers;

    Abstract : This thesis and the papers included is an \textit{in silico} study of how charged particles interact and behave close to surfaces, and how to treat these interactions in simulations. This type of systems is found in widely different contexts, from capacitors to biological cells. READ MORE
