1. On thermodynamic properties of aqueous ethylamine mixtures and modelling of excess properties
Abstract : Ethylenediamine (EDA) is a bifunctional amine used for several different purposes such as for production of the Ethylenediaminetetracetric acid (EDTA) that is used as a chelating agent in detergents but also for fungicides, bleaching activators etc. In many applications very high purity is needed and the removal of the byproduct Ethylethylenediamine (EtEDA) has proven to be difficult. 2. Acetylation of Solid Wood. Wood Properties and Process Development
Abstract : The influence of acetylation on selected wood properties has been determined for Scandinavian pine and spruce wood, in order to predict the behavior of acetylated wood when it is used in different applications. Only minor differences in both bending strength and the modulus of elasticity were obtained for acetylated wood when compared with unmodified wood, and can, for practical applications, be considered unaltered. 3. Cementitious properties of steelmaking slags
Abstract : The present study is directed towards the use of steelmaking slags as raw material for sulphoaluminate belite cement (SAB). Another important objective was to characterise the cementitious properties of phases in ladle furnace slag (LFS) specifically the calcium aluminates. READ MORE

4. Thermodynamic Modelling of Electrolyte Solutions with Application to the Pulp and Paper Industry
Abstract : A thermodynamic model for electrolyte solutions has been derived for binary and multicomponent solutions up to very high molalities. The model was extensively tested on 163 binary aqueous electrolyte systems up to very high molalities, and the results show that the model represents mean ionic activity coefficients and osmotic coefficients very accurately. 5. Nanostructured TiN/ZrAlN and HfAlN Thin Films : Effect of Structure on Mechanical Properties
Abstract : Transition metal nitrides are a remarkable group of ceramic materials that offer exceptional properties such as high hardness, low tribological wear, excellent thermal stability, and high oxidation resistance. Alloys such as TiN, CrN, VN, ZrN, and HfN have been identified as ideal candidates for protective coatings on cutting tool inserts in the metal processing industry. READ MORE
