1. Reaction dynamics on highly excited states
Abstract : In this thesis I have performed theoretical studies on the reaction dynamics in few-atom molecules. In particular, I have looked at reaction processes in which highly excited resonant states are involved. READ MORE

2. Excited States of Carotenoids and Their Functions in Light Harvesting
Abstract : The research presented in this thesis is focused on characterization of photophysical properties of lowest singlet excited states of carotenoids and their functions in the process of photosynthetic light harvesting. It is shown that the various light-harvesting complexes utilize different strategies to achieve efficient energy transfer from carotenoids to (bacterio)chlorophylls. READ MORE

3. Excited States in Negative Ions
Abstract : This thesis covers experimental studies of atomic negative ions with the main goal of increasing our fundamental understanding of these fragile quantum systems. Comparisons of measurements and calculations have been used to increase our understanding of these highly correlated, yet simple, systems. READ MORE

4. The short, excited life of tellurium : Lifetime analysis of excited states in the Te midshell region
Abstract : In this licentiate thesis, lifetimes of low lying excited states in the midshell region of tellurium isotopes are discussed. The nuclear lifetimes are interesting properties to study, since they are inversely proportional to the transition probabilities, which contain information on the underlying structure of the nucleus. 5. Radiative lifetimes of bound excited states in anions : Measurements on long-lived metastable states in atomic anions
Abstract : This thesis presents and discusses the results of measurements of the intrinsic lifetimes of bound excited anionic states. The results are valuable for evaluation of different theoretical models and computation methods and are compared to calculations when available. READ MORE
