1. Holistic evaluation and testing of coil coatings
Abstract : Coil coatings are durable organic coatings used to protect metal sheets from corrosion and improve their aesthetic properties. Because of their extensive use, coil coatings have long been of interest for industrial and academic researchers. READ MORE

2. Photocatalysis for Indoor Air Cleaning : In situ FTIR and DFT Study of Acetaldehyde Photo-Oxidation on TiO2 and Sulfate-Modified TiO2
Abstract : Acetaldehyde is among the group of VOC’s causing the so-called "sick building" syndrome. WHO has estimated that this problem, related to the indoor air-quality, affects one third of all buildings worldwide. TiO2 is an attractive material for the photocatalytic removal of VOC’s in the indoor environment. READ MORE

3. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy in Industrial Hygiene Applications : Assessment of Emissions from and Exposures in Wood Processing Industries
Abstract : This thesis evaluates the use of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) as an approach to the increasingly difficult air sampling challenges within the field of occupational and environmental hygiene. The application of FTIR is exemplified by the assessment of emissions from and exposures in the sawmill and pellet industries. READ MORE

4. Development and Application of Methods based on DOAS and FTIR Absorption Spectroscopy for Atmospheric Research
Abstract : Over the past decades concern about the environmental impact on our atmosphere from human activities has been constantly increasing. From the recognition of local industrial pollution in the first part of this century, over regional scale problems related to urbanisation and growth of traffic systems to global environmental problems such as climate change and stratospheric ozone depletion. 5. Application of Infrared and UV-Visible Remote Sensing Techniques for Studying the Stratosphere and for Estimating Antrophogenic Emissions
Abstract : Infrared and UV/visible broadband absorption techniques have been used in three applications related to environmental research and atmospheric science. The techniques are based on measuring the attenuation of light by the atmosphere in the infrared and UV/visible region, and since a very large number of species absorb light in these wavelength regions, the techniques studied allow the measurement of several species simultaneously.
